Ever wondered why Edward is my favourite character in Thomas? It was because the first steam engine I saw in person was a GNR(I) 4-4-0 being hauled by a diesel as it ran the line by my old house. It might have been 'MERLIN' or 'SLIEVE GULLION', but my god, did I love the look of the engine.

I might as well get one. But this is the LAST train set I'm buying this year..........right?

With only two months of 2025 left, I've been looking back at how much animation has been done for Miniature Railway Adventures's test episode as I've tried to set a goal to get as much as I can done this year. While most of it was made using temp BGs and green screens, quite. a lot has been made...

So I decided to check out the Netflix film. It has the vibes in places and there is some good choreographs in the fight scenes. There are some nods to the last anime film, though I think the main boss background was a little rushed in explanation near the end. Other than that, it's an alright film.

Lady Grange and Betty are on service today. "Jumping cold it was too, that morning, but little steam engines love the cold weather" I've a good fire in her ladyship and plenty of steam. So it should be a good day's run. ~ Casey.

One of these days I must see about getting new thumbnails made for The Miniature Railway Adventures Series One Audiobooks. Or maybe commission some art pieces of sections of the stories like with the updated Snow Drifts Audiobook from 2023.

Genuinely curious - what are everyone's thoughts on the 90's era of Postman Pat (that being the four specials and Series 2) ? Whenever I see discussion about about "classic Pat" I find it tends to focus mainly on Series 1. Anything that appeals less about these later episodes?

Looking forward to seeing you guys again. I know the new previews aren't much, but we're still working hard at trying to get the project further and further towards it's goal. It's just right now we're working on various sections of the story with what model shots and rigs we have at hand.

While taking breaks to get a new shot for Miniature Railway Adventures made for animating, The raised track route on the model layout is being assembled into place. This is looking very promising and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

The 2nd Magorail set has arrived and I think there is just about enough 'track' to do the raised track section. I don't think many modelled a raised track before. There's one I saw in a photo @tugstheexhibition.bsky.social took that I've been using for reference, but can't think of any others.

Tonight me and Kirsty saw the last animated City Hunter film and wow. This is probably the darkest 3rd acts the series has ever taken. The plot had a very strong vibe about it, with the addition of the traditional City Hunter tropes. But man, were the action scenes well paced. For a film that...1/2)

So this was something I didn't expect from my dog, May. She actually LOVES miniature train rides. When I had my portable tracks set up to give my niece and nephew a ride with Puffa, May wanted to have a go too. And so this clip from 2022, shows her happily having a train ride for the first time.

Thank you everyone for your kind words about May. I'm still finding it hard to let it all sink in, but time will heal as they say. May was a brilliant dog. I'm just so sorry her time was up so soon. I'll be taking some time off social media but will be back soon. ~ M ❤️

So I decided to order another Magnorail set for this new layout for I had a bit of a brainwave last night. One item on the layout that I was unsure at the time how to work was the raised track for the 5 inch & 3 1/2 inch trains. But I think I know how...

We've got movement!!! Though I think more engines and stock are required. But till they arrive I think the ground works for some scenic work is in order. Expect a new Livestream from the Miniature Railway Adventures YT channel tomorrow covering this.

When you're animating a run cycle and the perfect song comes on your playlist. This video is from a month ago, but I was animating a running sequence when this song came on. Song BTW is 'Footsteps' from City Hunter.

So what this was supposed to be was a recreation of the rolling panorama backdrop they used in the likes of Thunderbirds (pictured) as well as in the Thomas series for cab shots. Mine was to be a manual operated one, but it was too flimsy to work right. Pity there's no plans of how this was made.

What do you suppose this failed prop for Branch Line Engines was originally going to be used for? The answer will be revealed later this evening.

Me and Kirsty just finished City Hunter 91. I can definitely say this tops series 3. So many great episodes and brilliant story plots. Plus there was a moment where we had to pause an episode because we were laughing so hard at something featured in it. But yeah a great series indeed.
