This Ash Wednesday I wear a cross of ash & glitter. It bears witness to the violence committed against queer kin, calls me to reflect on my privilege & that of the church as society tries to erase trans kin, and an invitation for God to reveal the divine spirit/spark anew in our collective rituals.

In today’s EO on eridicating anti-Christian bias, the attack on trans communities continues. I hope Christians will stand up against these specific, repeated attacks on trans folx, as they did for Bishop Budde.

This has nothing to do with protecting cis women athletes. It is fearmongering and justifying discrimination. If they were protecting athletes, they would be addressing a long history of predatory coaches and gender disparities in pay and media coverage.

Multifaceted organizing matters. Grateful to NY AG James and all those who protested and protest. Shame on you, NYU. I wish I could say I was surprised.
