I was gifted and incredible piece of McCormick field history this weekend. This numbered print (825/1500) was a promotional giveaway in 1989. It has an incredible photo of the field, showing a minimal outfield fence. In center field is Ty Cobb, and out in the left field are wooden stands.

The 4th of July hats this year are so nice.

Oranged out! Here's the secret to getting a good parking spot: come down to the ballpark an hour before the gate opens and getcha a beer and some wings at Daddy Mac's across the road. Shhh, it's a secret. Don't go tellin' everybody.

The park going through major renovations this off-season and a new grand entrance is a part of that. As amazing as the new look is going to be, there's always going to be a soft spot in my heart for those historic arches. They were my favorite spot to get photos of the fireworks from.
