Bangladesh, Netherlands, Ireland & Scotland will join Australia, India, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka & Windies at the T20 World Cup in England this year.

Ireland defeat UAE comfortably 2-0 and they defeat Italy uncomfortably 2-1. Italy are no pushovers what with the diaspora players they’ve brought in.

In the Lotus Cup tri series Hong Kong women won the final and went undefeated 6-0. Bhutan won the semi final to go 3-3. Malaysia were winless 0-5.

Scotland has teams at the u19 WC, the Women’s WC qualifier, and the Men’s t20 WC. That’s big for them!

Japan won their 1st ever game at the u19 WC by whooping Tanzania to take 13th. The USA beat Scotland by 7 wickets to take 15th.

All of the associates lost their first games at the u19 WC except for a no result for Scotland.

The Women’s T20 WC Qualifier begins today in Nepal. Group A Bangladesh (ranked 10) Ireland (9) Namibia (18) Papua New Guinea (13) USA (25) Group B Nepal (21) Netherlands (14) Scotland (11) Thailand (12) Zimbabwe (15) Group games then a Super Six. Four teams advance to the big show.

Canada has named Dilpreet Bajwa as captain and a highlight shows former captain Nicholas Kirton making a big shot. Since there’s no coverage of the sport in Canada, I don’t know why the change.

Today marks the start of some warm up matches at the u19 WC with teams from Japan, Scotland, Tanzania and the USA participating.

Indonesia defeated Cambodia in a nine game series 8-0. One game was abandoned. Some games were close. There are probably highlights on icc-tv.

Bhutan comfortably swept the series v Myanmar 5-0. No games were remotely close.

Meanwhile, Myanmar (ranked 89) will play five games in seven days v Bhutan (83) in Gelephu.

Malaysia won the cricket competition at the South East Asia Games going undefeated.

Bahrain completed the 5-0 whitewash of Bhutan winning a close one with four balls remaining. The other games were not particularly close.

The u19 Asia Cup is underway in Dubai featuring Malaysia, Nepal and the UAE as well as full member nations. A couple of lopsided results so far.

The Oman women won a quick tri series by defeating the Qatar women by 13 runs Bahrain finished 3rd.
