I wanted to highlight that our Pennsylvania state budget included a 7.1% increase in funding for the public library subsidy. This $5 million total increase will support learning, education initiatives and access to information in communities across PA.

I’m excited to share more grant news! Over $1.15 million in Local Share Account grants has been awarded to five projects in Upper Providence Township, Lower Providence Township, Collegeville Borough and with Montco Redevelopment Authority/Historic Trappe.

This evening in the PA House, I voted yes to pass HB 1957, The Reproductive Rights Act (Rep. Danielle Friel Otten). The bill passed 102-101 and now heads to the PA Senate for consideration.

I’m pleased to announce that Historic Trappe received a $25,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission as a part of its Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program to 177 eligible museums and official county historical societies.

I want to take a moment to congratulate one of our high school interns, Bo Bernstein, on her commitment to Boston University! Bo plans to study philosophy and political science when she arrives on campus in the fall of 2026. We are so proud and wish her the best of luck in this next chapter!

I had a great time decorating the Christmas tree with residents at Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Senator Katie Muth yesterday. It was a wonderful experience hanging ornaments on the tree while listening to festive tunes and celebrating the holiday season together!

On Monday, I had the pleasure of visiting Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center with @senatormuth.com to honor and recognize each resident who is a veteran. We presented them with a certificate, a pin and thanked them for their bravery, commitment and service to our country

There are thousands of concerns veterans bring home with them after their service, and not enough resources to help them with those concerns. My bill makes one aspect a little easier, and that’s providing our veterans with pathways to employment.

Today, November 11, we recognize Veterans Day. Please join me today, and every day, in honoring our veterans and thanking them for their commitment to protecting our country. Ask them about their experiences, when and where did they serve, what branch they were in.

As a result of the current Republican federal government shutdown, SNAP funding will run out by the end of Oct. and benefits will not be delivered in Nov. What does this mean specifically to the people in PA? 2 million will go without food aid, more than half of which are families with children.
