Good to know there's no generative AI in this contentious "video to sound" software, as its webpage metadata says: > "Generate and sync real sound effects — ambiences, footsteps and transitions — directly on your timeline. No leaving Premiere. No generative AI. Premiered at NAB 2026."

I'd link to the Production Expert article where they argue UK freelancers should get Private Medical Insurance, and not rely on the NHS (and maybe consider setting up an Ltd because tax), which, despite the UK vs US larger point, I think is bad juju. But I've double-checked and it smells of AI slop.

LM Studio on-device AI is OK for small tests. Coding agents with a local model are a huge chore tho. Subtly broken. Tool calling hit/miss. Prompt processing / loading takes forever. Like, I get it, it's revolutionary, but why not tidy it up so things actually work? Makes Copilot look competent :|

Turns out if you have even a half innovative idea, some people one way or another will try to hijack it, or block it, and the defending takes up N times more energy than what it took to come up with it in the first place. Feeling dumb in life because of "obvious" things like this.
