Behold! The world's largest pistachio! I found this beaut in Alamogordo, New Mexico on a road trip through the state last year.

This is the Berlin Wall behind me, from my visit to Berlin, Germany in 2019. There is a small section that remains to remind people of the horrors of the past. This section shows all traces of destruction from the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall and is protected as a historical monument.

In 2015 I got to take a tour inside Alcatraz Prison. This federal penitentiary was in operation from 1934 to 1963. Most of the prisoners were notorious bank robbers and murderers. The most famous inmate was notorious gangster Al Capone.

Last month I visited the Pony Express museum in St. Joseph, Missouri. This is the original stable building and marked the eastern terminus of the Pony Express. I asked if I could join these guys on their ride but they just ignored me!

I’m a little late with my Friday night post but I had a busy and fun filled day in Indianapolis, Indiana! This is the Zoo Boo at the Indianapolis Zoo.

It's like the statue was made just for me, that's how good I look here! This is in Cancun, Mexico from my first visit there in 2003. I've been back several other times since then. People always ask me to bring them back some vanilla, but I'm just a stuffed cow!

This is the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada from my 2002 visit. Completed in 1976, the CN Tower held the record for the world's tallest free-standing structure for 32 years until 2007, when it was surpassed by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Fallingwater... located in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania, this is Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous house. Completed in 1937, it is famous for being built partly over a waterfall. Today it is a museum, which I highly recommend. I was here in 2002.

From my visit to London in 2023, this is the famous Globe theater! Built in 1599 and torn down in 1644. This modern reconstruction of the theatre was completed in 1997 and is an approximation of the original design and located approximately 750 feet from the site of the original theatre.

Sitting adjacent to the Iowa Supreme Court building in Des Moines, the Shattering Silence sculpture was built in commemoration of the 170th anniversary of the landmark 1839 Iowa Territorial Supreme Court ruling that prohibited slave Ralph Montgomery from being extradited back to Missouri.

I saw a lot today in Topeka, KS and St. Joseph, MO but I ended my day here in rainy Omaha, Nebraska. This is the Old Market district with lots of cool restaurants and shops.

Overlooking the Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland from my visit in April. It remains the bloodiest day in American history with 23,000 soldiers killed, wounded or missing after twelve hours of savage combat on September 17, 1862. The battle was a major turning point in the Union's favor.

This is the famous Bean in Chicago. The artwork is officially called Cloud Gate, but no one actually calls it that. And the reason it because it looks like a giant reflective bean! Have you ever seen it in person? I was here last summer.
