1/2 With power being limited in Ukraine, we at #Balakun have devised an ingenious mode to keep the English learning going!! We are now offering ‘bite size’ (pun intended 😏) sessions, as short as 10 minutes for our learners to catch up, brush up, do a quick exercise or send in a recorded reading.

It's the weekend, time to show down just a bit maybe grab a breakfast you don't have time for during the week How about some сирники (syrniki) These little fluffy pancakes are often made with farmer's cheese and are small in size and сметана (sour cream) & fruit Would you try these yummy pancakes?

Today, I spent five hours translating an open-air museum tour for my friend, Sandi Dempsey from @balakunua.bsky.social a volunteer from New Zealand. Once again, I referred to beer as ‘bear’ and called a well ‘wellness.’ Actually, Sandi taught me English, so she trained her own translator.

My adventure begins! First stop drop off the dog. She seems fine! Next stop Canada!
