I had a job to do in South Queensferry yesterday , and I left home in brilliant sunshine. However, when I arrived in South Queensferry, it was shrouded in haar. Not to be deterred, I went back to North Queensferry, found a nice vantage point, and waited for this to unfold in front of me.

It was good to get out this morning after such a prolonged period of rainy days (weeks). No sunrise today at Elie but definitely a dramatic sky.

A few days ago I posted a pic of Lagagarbh Cottage taken from some distance away, I did also walk up to the cottage from close up. Even this close up it is still dwarfed by the Buachaille.

Trains are not running across the Forth Bridge this week, so I had to settle for a boat going under it instead.

I was out taking photos at all times and all over New York. I never felt unsafe and no matter the hour there was always some NYPD about.

I photographed a lot of Christmas Trees 🎄 when I was in New York. This was definitely one of my favourite scenes at the Lotte New York Palace.

I’ve just returned from a trip to New York, so lots of photos incoming over the next few days. Here is the first, downtown Manhattan from the Manhattan Bridge.

I have been doing some video work at Port Edgar and could not resist the opportunity to turn the drone and catch the Port Edgar marina against the backdrop of 2 of the bridges.

Warm and Cold at the Buachaille. The low winter sun casts a warm glow over the landscape in front of the Buachaille, but it was still Baltic! 🥶

Buachaille Etive Mòr stands dusted with fresh, perfectly reflected in the frozen River Etive below. The little arched bridge sits quietly in the landscape, framed by icy water, scattered rocks and that classic Highland light breaking through the clouds.

A Highland Stag, calm and majestic, slowly walks towards me. Scotland at its best.

The River Coupall meanders its way around the Great Buachaille dressed for winter and along the side of the A82 as the rising sun bursts through the horizon and catches the top of the mountain.

I knew that photographing the Forth Bridges on Halloween was a silly idea! But I never expected to get photobombed by a coven of witches. Just a little Halloween fun, but get this: over 4,000 Scots (mostly women) were accused of witchcraft between 1563 and 1736, and the majority were executed.
