OK - 42-28 looks like a bot of a thumping for Scotland (by the Saafies). But it was closer than the scoreline suggests and actually we played really well. Yay us.

Today I learned that "commotion cérébrale" is the French term for concussion. Which feels jolly apt. Oh and the hairdresser had air conditioning. My hair was pretty much dry by the time I got home. Hehe.

A couple of weeks ago (during the last heatwave) I had an appointment at the hairdresser. Moved it because of the heat. To tomorrow. FML. Hey ho.

I had a lovely bimble out to Rainham today, although I did cop a nasty nettle sting stopping to let some cyclists through on the currently very narrow paths at Rainham Marshes. Nettle stings are owie! Haven't had one in years. Currently enjoying Argentina v Scotland (rugby). V fun.

The wind is clearly coming from the correct direction as I can hear the Metallica gig in the Olympic Stadium. I wonder if they'll do 500 Miles (I'm Gonna Be) like they did in Glasgow. Didn't hear Take That last weekend.

Oh deary me. Look at the rain at the World Cup. It's like Glesga on a Wednesday night.... (This is a family in-joke flowing from the days when Celtic were in the Champion's League. Every Wednesday night game it seemed to be pishing with rain. It was uncanny.)

I'm suffering slightly from separation anxiety. My bike went in for a service yesterday and (because the bike shop was busy) had to stop there overnight. And he might not even be home today. Mi bicicleta! (More worried about tomorrow's commute!)

Looking forward to having a nice chat with my wonderful dad tonight. I'm a total daddy's girl. We share a love for football, rugby, horses, Glasgow and we very much share a sense of humour. He's magic. He's a wee old man now, but he's still my dad. Even caring for mum didn't kill his humour.

Was over at the gym at the Londo Aquatics Centre earlier (the gym has lovely air con). Came out to walk over to Westfield and there's one of those fountain/water parks for the kids. Heaving. Kiddies having a grand time. Adults all wondering if they should fight the sprogs for it.

Was anyone else aware that the London Air Ambulance has a siren? I discovered that today. I hope that whoever was being treated by the numerous ambulances etc is OK. A sobering thing to see as the air ambulance was over the Tower looking apparently for somewhere to land.

To add to the hemlock, cow's parsley or giant hogweed discourse, this, lads and lasses, is giant hogweed - the leaves are the giveaway.... giant hogweed mostly is found near rivers. Some of this was a good 7 feet tall at Rainham Marshes

No Scotland, no party. And the Tartan Army is more than just a bunch of slightly tipsy folk in kilts. Since the 2003 the Tartan Army has a charitable branch and for 112 away games had donated to local children's charities. This World Cup is no different. 10k given to a local kids hospital.
