Happy 5th birthday to my bike! In 5 years I've gone from venturing as far as Tower Bridge or Westminster and thinking that was an adventure to a wardrobe full of cycle clothing, obsessively checking weather apps for the weekend and getting stroppy if I don't get out on the bike...

Lovely day today for a bimble on the bike. Went to Hornchurch rather than Rainham today. It's slow going in the Country Park because every dog in East London is there being walked, walking their humans or chasing a ball or stick.

Every wrek I get meat and fruit and veg from Riverford. They often send recipes out with the boxes, and their feed on the Gram is also a feast of recipes. This recipe was on their feed last week. A traybake of Med veggies and gnocchi, with feta (and olives if you like them)...

My phone updated recently and it turned off the predictive text. Hence all the typos. That and not always wearing my glasses..... In other news, after a frantic week, I had a lovely snooze this afternoon after my PT session this morning.

Hurrah! The sun is out at a weekend, so I went out for a bimble to Rainham to test out my "new" bike and position. It was fab. I haven't done a longer weekend ride since London to Brighton what with one thing and another....

Thank you to Kate @bikefit.bsky.social for my bike fit. Should have done that years ago for all I "just" commute and bimble about to eat cake at weekends. Thank you also to the gents at London Bike Studio for setting up my new handlebars. What with that and the bike fit it's almost New Bike Day!

I spent pretty much all day at work peopling. I do not love peopling. I like it in short bursts with quietude in between. I was exhausted by lunchtime and then had to spent the best part of 3 hours in meetings. I am completely wiped out. I need about 3 days off.

Not sure i was quite awake this morning on my cycle commute. Riding up to Mile End station a police car went past all blues and twos. "Ah," says I to myself, "a plain clothed police car." I meant unmarked but clearly that word was a bridge too far. (I am very tired after a too short sleep)

I got the promotion at work I was going for. The application process has been absolutely horrific and I hated every second of it. I am thrilled and relieved to have got through it. Yay me! (I have been bouncing about like an idiot since I got the news)
