Interesting decline in #chlamydia notification rates across several countries in 2023, contributing to a slowdown in the overall #EU/EEA trend! Several hypotheses to explore, especially in settings without changes in testing policies or laboratory practices.

In 2023, 41k confirmed cases of #syphilis were reported in EU/EEA, representing a 13% 📈 compared to 2022, & a doubling compared to 2014. Highest rates were seen among men aged 25-34, majority of cases reported in MSM. Rates increased also among women of all age. www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/publicati...
