Pragmata continues to amaze. 10 and a half hours in and it just gets better.

About 9 hours into Pragmata and I’m loving it so much. The fact that it’s only 15 or so hours is pushing me on, knowing I’ll get to the end not in another 200 hours! Oh and it’s gorgeous. No spoiler screenshots.

First red zone cleared in Pragmata. What a fun game.

Played and finished this on Series X Gamepass. Now it’s on PS5 Pro, I bought it! Superb game with a great story, excellent characters and a vibe that’s worth experiencing. If you don’t like the combat, or get bored, you can just not do it.

Crimson Desert, I gave you forty hours but you’ve tried my patience too much with just severe janky quests, puzzles so obscure that without a video guide would be impossible to work out. That’s not clever, that’s overstretching yourselves. It has the makings of a good game, but it just isn’t.

Watching one of my very favourite films tonight. Saw at the cinema in 1981! Nicol Williamson as Merlin steals the show, but it has a fantastic cast including Liam Neeson, Patrick Stewart, Helen Mirren, Cheri Lunghi, Ciarán Hinds and Gabriel Byrne.

Second big patch for Crimson Desert have definitely made some of the controls less finicky. Example, if you are close to a person you need to talk to, rather than having to get on the right pixel and press two buttons, you get a prompt and the camera locks to them.

Finally defeated that Red Mist boss in Crimson Tide. Not too difficult once you have plenty of provisions!

PS5 and pro up £90 from 2 April. First generation ever where your console is worth more the longer you have it. I’ve got all the main formats and the price now of PS5+Pro, Series X, Switch 2 and PC components is just astounding.

I’m not a trophy hunter at all, but anyone who gets the full set on Crimson Desert will really have earned it. I’ve played 22 hours and beaten 4 of 75 bosses and got TWO bronze trophies.

Watching this Luc Besson adaptation of Dracula and I’m enjoying it because it’s so odd and sexy. It’s transposed from London and Whitby to Paris and changes some story beats, but is still quite fun…despite Dracula’s Gremlin helpers…and I’m not even joking!

Just fought a cloud boss in Crimson Desert and it was perhaps the worst I’ve ever faced in any game. The game is great and a complete shambles that has never been playtested.

For all my vitriol about Crimson Desert, I’ve still clocked in at 16 hours. The map is GIGANTIC. Apparently it takes 6 hours just to walk from one end to the other. That’s insane.

Got the results from the tests I’ve had done on my hands. Arthritis in all my fingers, carpal tunnel and torn ligament in my wrist. That and a ganglion cyst in my arm causing numbness in my fingers. Just put me down

I’ve seen this honestly about 30 times and never get bored. Watching the restored 4K/HDR version and it just pops out of the screen. The Late Robert Shaw is the real star here as Quint. Interesting fact, Shaw was English (like me) and died a year or so after the film released.

So I think Crimson Desert is a 6 out of 10 as it stands. That’s average on my scale. It’s an 8 if it just stops being so terrible at explaining anything. It needed a proper designer for these fundamentals. The actual exploration gameplay is great, but it is mired in awkward systems.

I’ve had to look up so many help videos for Crimson Desert as it has so many menus and systems, and often doesn’t tell you at all how to do it. If you’re stuck on how to expand your camp, look here. How could anyone work this out themselves. It’s truly awful design. youtu.be/YkClTrA27yw?...

So I’m 9 hours into Crimson Desert and I’m enjoying it, but it definitely needs some TLC to beat it into greatness. Some of the puzzles I swear would be completely impossible without a guide to help you but the sense of exploration is very Breath of the Wild.

I’m really struggling with the complexity of Crimson Desert. Quest, get some wood. No instructions on how to cut down a tree or how to cut a fallen tree down. Come on, that’s crummy design. There is no hand holding then there is not giving any instructions or poorly written ones.

Another thing about Crimson Desert is it’s very fiddly and the game does a shockingly bad job at explaining how you use the 8000 different functions of each button.

Initial impressions of Crimson Desert is that it’s very pretty, a bit clunky and vague to control and has a lot of controls to learn…but has me wanting more.

NGL but this really pisses me off. Can’t even patch it. What’s the point of a physical disc then having to wait.
