Weavers, what's the shortest length of warp you're willing to work with on your floor loom? My test warp for my floor loom is only a little over 2.5 yards long (2 towels worth), and this seems a little silly now as I'm threading the heddles. #weaving #multishaft

This project was sidelined when the Great Restoration began. After receiving the incorrect width of steel cable for the third time, I went back to something I could control. This will come off the loom tonight. Also, for a slap dash direct warping job, I'll take that! #weaving #rigidheddle

2 weeks later, and she's all back together! Cleaned, waxed, metal bits de-rusted and then sealed, new aprons, new brake, old cords replaced with texsolv. Building a raddle and installing the new brake tomorrow, and then I'll take her for a test drive. #weaving #multishaft

Does over vs. under matter for aprons, as long as it advances in the correct direction? I attached this one first and then realized they typically go under. I can't just flip it without drilling new holes on the beams ends. #weaving #multishaft

Do I take the aprons off the beams and clean/feed them as well? Frame, treadles, lams, and horses done. Harnesses, back frame, and beater bar today. Brake hub/cable conversion kit arrives tomorrow... so now is the time to decide. All goes well, and warping on Wednesday! #weaving #mutlishaft

She was a dirty dirty girl. Frame was 1.5 t-shirts worth of dirty, and that was after a vacuum and swiffer dusting. I'm trying to decide if I sand off some paint transfer marks, or if I just consider them part of the loom's history. Also, the cats are much less interested now. #multishaft #weaving

Floor loom people - given the choice between 2 different used looms, priced low, which would you choose? 1) 4 shaft LeClerc (probably Nilus), declared all working order, has been disassembled for years. 2) 8 shaft counter balance, similar to a Norwood, needs some work. #weaving #multishaftloom

I tried to place a pick up order for navy silk/mohair, to complete my warp. They were out. Me: I have these 3 accent colors in this yarn, and then the navy. Can you pick a different coordinating color? Them: I don't know enough about #weaving. I didn't try to argue it's just color theory.

Almost halfway done with this warp, where there's a color change every slot/hole (slots 1 color, holes 3 different colors). Also, I've definitely decided I prefer indirect warping!

How is it of my three different 8/2 dark red-ish options in my stash, none of them are the right tone? And while I have the right red in 6/2, I don't have the right blue in 6/2. I truly was trying to avoid a mass weaving yarn stash, and yet here we are. #weaving #yarn #stashproblems

I *thought* I was down to the last inch to be threaded, and then I realized I had way more than 10 threads left on my cross... Yup. My last project was on my 7.5 heddle and not the 10. Carefully moving 60-ish more threads onto the correct heddle. I'm calling this practice! #rigidheddle #weaving

There needs to be an aroma version of Shazam. I have no clue what this sticky fragrant substance is that I stepped in with my bare feet on my hot, sunbaked back deck, but it certainly glued my toes together. I just want to shake my fist at whichever of my trees is responsible.
