Celebrated national Native American Day playing Magic the Gathering with some of my fellow Tribal members. Was just what I needed to forget about some of the awfulness in the world right now.

Dang. Don’t know about anyone else, but I’m having a hard time getting excited about my hobbies the past few days with all the craziness and uncertainty going on in the US lately. Vacillating between pissed off at the cruel policies and actions occurring and depressed at feeling powerless.

I was waffling on grabbing them until I saw the spine art. Then there was no hesitation. They had to go home with me. Home recorded tapes aren’t typically valuable for resale purposes, but thankfully I have a tape player in my office so these will get to live on.

New addition to the lunchbox collection. It was cheap and local on fb marketplace so was an easy decision to snag it.

First flea market of the season yesterday. I was really trying to thin stuff out and didn’t want to buy a ton of stuff, but the button guy was set up and I had to see what he had. Glad I did because I found some cool additions to my collection. What do you think my favorite one is?

This was great. Loved the acting, the cinematography, the feel, all of it. And I don’t want to watch it again for a long while. It was intense and stress inducing and beautiful. But not sure my mental health could take a second veiwing right now.

It’s a bit beat up and definitely weathered, but it was still pretty awesome to find this small vintage Gremlins poster in the bins yesterday.

A friend told me he may have a betamax player for me. That’s great timing because I found these yesterday. No labels on them so i need a player to see what potentially cool 80’s stuff is saved here.

The bins blessed me with some home recorded dead media tonight.

Something I was happy to find at the Antiques in the Streets event last week: Palladium books! I’ve always been a fan of these and loved the game system back when I was in high school. I never had the Robotech books but loved that i could potentially run a TMNT/Robotech game.

Found this sealed Chu-Bops gum album at the flea on Sunday. The guy had a small box full but the Blondie one was the only one I wanted at the proce he was selling them for

I swung by a cool antique mall on Saturday and managed to find a stack of comics I need to fill in some runs. Nothing super rare or valuable, but usually most comics I’m hunting for aren’t.

My joes got a new recruit. Crankcase better watch out, Pastrana is coming for his job.

The flea market seemed like it was gonna be a bust but then I came across a vendor with what looked like betamax sleeves. Investigating further I saw they had a bunch of posters and other video store promos from around 1984. So looks like it was worth the trip after all.

I’m always on the lookout for home recorded tapes, especially cartoons. This one was an easy decision for me grab due to the customization that its creator put into it. Haven’t had a minute to see what’s actually on the tape but am excited to see if it has some mid 90’s commercials.

Found this treasure at the bins today. Thought the label looked intriguing and opened it up to see this signed letter from Senator Packwood as well. I love finding these odd slices of history when I’m hunting.

Not a real car guy in that I don’t work on them or collect them, but I do appreciate cars from my childhood and when I saw these dealer brochures at the bins, I had to grab them. So many angles on these things. Lol

Picked up a basket of what looked to be junk pokemon and baseball cards from a yard sale. Decided to take a chance as the cards looked to be older and $5 wasn’t too big of a gamble. Worked out for me.

Really feeling like I should be ignoring homework/my job and just playing magic, star wars, or warhammer.

I decided to hit the bins after work yesterday and while there rrwasn’t a ton of vhs, there was this interesting documentary, The Beet Tenders Destiny. Haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, but I’m hoping to this weekend. Anyone else collect tapes like this?

When word gets out that you collect vhs, people sometimes show up with gifts. An older colleague emailed me yesterday and said he was going to swing by my office to drop a bag off for me. He’s given me a few boxes of VHS in the past and apparently he found some more while cleaning his house..

I was excited to see Slice in the cooler until I realized that they dropped the ball by not bringing back the iconic Apple Slice. 😢. Come on Slice. You had one job.

New addition to my vintage tee collection: this J Bates super shirt! I still have mine from high school that my mom passed along to me but I’m a bit larger now than I was then. This was the first I’ve come across in my size so I had to snag it.

Day two of the yard sale when you are pretty rural is sloooow. Hoping it picks up after people get out of church.

Dude asked about my Nintendo stuff. I said I was willing to come down on it if depending on the games/prices. He asked about a price for the lot of it and I said I hadn’t planned on putting a lot price but he could make an offer.

Did a big cleanout of our shop yesterday to get ready for a yard sale. So much clutter & stuff we don’t need. But there are treasures as well. This small bin and two cardboard boxes are my wife’s childhood cassette tapes. Gotta go through them soon. Excited about all the mix tapes i saw hiding.

I’ve been keeping my eyes open for vintage clothes more during my thrifting adventures and I’ve managed some sweet finds this week.

I’m not typically into graded comics but for $20 I couldn’t let this one languish at the swap yesterday.

Found some treasures while hitting the yard sales today.

Did a six mile hike with the Tribal Youth and staff today. Was a beautiful day and am thankful for the opportunity to enjoy the mountains.

Hit the bins yesterday and didn’t find a ton, but thought these were cool enough to add to the collection. I loved the Sleepy Hollow film when it would air around halloween, and I don’t know that I’ve ever seen the Flintstones/Jetsons crossover. .

Found the witch mask in a free pile and happened to notice the cat hiding by the checkout table as i was leaving. Sara spotted the pumpkin and we had to grab it for a buck

Its been a bit since I’ve been garage saling but decided to check out a few today. As most of you know, I ❤️ vintage Christmas stuff and been collecting blow molds the past few years. These were pretty affordable and I didn’t have in the collection yet, so it was a quick decision to grab them.

Went to an in-person auction today and wasn’t planning on grabbing anything really but I ended up winning two lots. One had comics in it, which i sold to my buddy to cover part of my costs. Some cool antique toys that will look good at my flea market booth next season.

Found a nice stack of entertainment weekly and other pop culture magazines at a thrift shop today. They aren’t in the greatest shape, so will probably end up in my arts and crafts supplies

My wife is on a 18 mile hike today and I’m her transportation. So I’m revisiting some old favorites while I wait.
