$800 dermatologist visit today! 😩 Staph infection still not gone. He recommended as many baths as we can do (daily if possible) with the chlorhexidine shampoo (we got some stronger). He thinks it may be an underlying thyroid issue that is causing him to be susceptible to the infection.

Mardi Gras break is here! So thankful to have all next week off. I’ve been sick with no voice for almost 2 weeks. Ready for some much needed rest! 💜💚💛

He’s over this daily shots and fluids business! Today was day 5 out of 7-10. I can’t really see any difference yet. Tomorrow is bath day. Hopefully, we’ll start to see improvement soon! #CorgiCrew

Grady started his 7-10 days of daily antibiotics for this staph infection. Bloodwork looked good. We have to check that every few days to make sure it’s not affecting his kidneys. I pray this helps, poor baby! #CorgiCrew

29° right now. Wind Chill 24° Grady does not have a care in the world. He’s just happy we’re home. I’m glad his vet appointment isn’t until 4:30. Should be above freezing by then!

No school tomorrow! We didn’t get any ice or snow, but it rained all day today & we’re expecting freezing temps for 10-12 hours tonight, so they are worried about road conditions. Temps down to 23° tonight. Wind chill 11°. Throwback to Grady in last year’s snow!

Still fighting the staph infection. Results from culture last week show that it’s a form of staph resistant to all but one antibiotic. That one is daily injections for 10 days. It can affect his kidney so we have to have blood work and analysis before during and after the injections. #CorgiCrew

Merry Christmas from Grady! He’s doing well, considering. Staph infection is still lingering, so we got a new antibiotic & medicated shampoo. We got a Help Em Up harness, which is a huge help getting him around. We also started him on doggie Prozac because the separation anxiety is getting worse.

Grady update: doing well, except for a staph infection under his legs. Vet visit today and got a shot for itching and antibiotics. Hoping it clears up so I can take him to visit my dad in the nursing home over Thanksgiving. #CorgiCrew

Weekly therapy - tried out his wheels today, just to see how he’d react. The PT wants the back end lower so his feet can touch the ground while he can still somewhat use them. We’re not ready for them full-time yet, just getting him used to them #CorgiCrew

Grady decided to walk on the treadmill this week. It apparently wore him out. He’s snoring! 💤

Life has been so busy. I wanted to update the #CorgiCrew on Grady. He continues weekly therapy. Although today he refused to do the water treadmill. He seems to be dragging his back end more and more - worse on some days than others. He’s still as happy as can be though.

Back to doing most of the housework on the weekends because I’m too tired after school most days to worry about it. Today I have: swept, mopped, & vacuumed, done 2 loads of laundry, cleaned the kitchen, baked some brownies, and dremeled Grady’s nails. Nap time for him!

Grady had another drop off day for therapy today. I’m getting ready for Parent Night tomorrow night and am ready for the weekend. I forgot how mentally exhausting back to school is.

Great first day of school…except afternoon carline was chaotic! It took twice as long as it usually does. Hope it’s better tomorrow. Grady had his first drop off day for therapy. They let us drop him at 7am & can pick him up after school & there is no extra charge for that! 🤯

Classroom is ready for another group of 3rd graders - year 29 for me!

Busy week for us! They finished our construction. I headed back to school for teacher orientation. For the first time in 29 years, I have a para in my room working with 2 kids all day. Bless her! ❤️ Grady had therapy twice, but is going to once a week during school. He loves it! 💙🐾💙 #CorgiCrew

They are painting today! So happy this project is nearing an end!

Day 4 of construction. Should be putting up Sheetrock today. I don’t know how people live with big projects. I’m ready to get my kitchen back in order! Grady has his oncology check up today. I’ll post an update later.

Quick trip to Lowe’s for paint after hydrotherapy today. Construction workers have a window out at home and it’s 88° at our house. We’re now at school painting shelves.

Busy week! Construction started today in our dining area to repair termite damage! Grady is being so good. Chilling in his thunder shirt. Not barking at all!

Animal control caught the dog today! He’s on a 10 day hold in quarantine. No owner found.

The sky was beautiful tonight!

Just got bitten by one of two dogs running around loose on our street. I was getting out of my car and they charged up my driveway behind me. Already reported it and heading to Urgent Care. Just what I need! 😫

Day 2 of PT, laser, and hydrotherapy today. Ms. Melissa said I did much better. She was able to raise the water some. I had to bark about it a little though. Now I need a long nap! #CorgiCrew
