Another animation experiment. Wondering how many frames you need to make a gun look like it's an automatic. So I rotoscoped a model, added some muzzle flash, and added in some simple flying casings. How fast does it look like it's shooting?

Decided to take a crack at the Freiren drawing meme. 30min speed art~ I thought the neck and chin would befuddle me, but working from a reference image, I think I was able to knock it out okay. Her *eyes* were the hard part!

Preview. At 16 frames the 'jiggle' from imperfect lines looks almost like rotoscoping. I can't get them PERFECT perfect yet so I'm leaving it in. I may have gone way, way too hard into this one, but I see something beautiful at the other end, so screw it let's keep going DELICIOUS ONIONS 🌰 😋

My next loop is coming along well. I had to learn a new walk cycle - different in a few key ways - to make it work. Richard Williams says every character walks differently, and he's not joking. I found the differences technically fascinating so I put them in this clip.

I should do more animation. One of my issues in making art has been finding a good way to break big, complex pieces down into manageable chunks with good 'start' and 'stop' points - I've found this is a great way to pace myself and avoid burnout.

Musings on cybernetics. I've noticed that while the style of cyberware in a given setting tends to be internally consistent, which style is used is almost entirely a decision of the author. If I HAD to rank them I'd probably say type 1>3>2, but I really don't wanna haha Cybernetics are cool
