This small Mottled Owl regularly hangs around a stand of bamboo in the gardens of the Bougainvilla Hotel where we stayed while we were in San Jose, Costa Rica. When someone first pointed it out to me it was barely visible between two bamboo and had a red Summer Tanager feather stuck to its beak.🪶

Since the Wood ducks were MIA yesterday it's Wildlife Wednesday and here is an adorable Central American Agouti we saw in Costa Rica. #wildlife

It's Toucanet Tuesday! We saw this fabulous little Northern Emerald Toucanet at the the place we stayed in Monteverde. The second photo shows how small they are compared to some very large leaves. 🪶

Montezuma Oropendulas are another amazing bird species we saw in Costa Rica. The male makes a unique gurgling sound and dips down and back up while holding onto the branch, which I did not manage to capture, much to my chagrin. 🪶

Danger noodle! This Fer de Lance was spotted on an outlying area of the lodge grounds where we were staying in Costa Rica and they allowed us to peek around the corner and take pictures. They planned to relocate it somewhere else. 🐍

After our initial tour in Costa Rica we took a few extra days to go to Monteverde in hopes of seeing the Resplendant Quetzal and succeeded in getting some shots before it disappeared into a hole. *happy dance* 🪶
