Ring-billed Gulls were so fast that I couldn't tell if they were actually catching anything until I took photos. 🪶

An epic threefer fail. The Blue Heron took off behind the tree, the Great Egret looks like a photobomb and the Green Heron that I didn't even know was there is the most (but not quite) in focus and in the same spot where I didn't notice it on a previous photobomb. #WorstBirdPic 🪶

It always amazes me that the Green Heron can go from imposing predator to goofy muppet in the blink of an eye. 🪶

Does this qualify as a forward facing raptor? I mean, its head is swiveled around to face me but the rest of it is facing the other way. I'm so confused. 🪶

Here are some cool wasps for #InsectThursday doing their part a pollinators. Blue-winged Scoliid Wasp and Katydid Wasp. The Katydid Wasp was a new one for me - I like its orange legs. #Insects

It's #WoodDuckWednesday! The males are still skulking around in eclipse molt but starting to look a little spiffier. The females are pretty as usual. 🪶

On #TurtleTuesday there is some disagreement about which way to face on the log. Maybe lefty said something the righties didn't like. Almost like real life. 🐢

The Barn Swallow babies have finally fledged from their nest above our front door. The parents are persistent builders. The 1st iteration of their nest was very decorative but fell off. Then they had to wait until it rained enough for more mud to build again. Time to clean the front porch. 🪶

When an Eastern Chipmunk comes out of its hidey-hole and poses for you, you just have to take its picture. #wildlife 🐿️

It's #WoodDuckWednesday and after hiding their babies all summer the Wood Ducks are back at their favorite hangout. 🪶
