Tonight we played session 2 of The Quintessential Dungeon adventure using The Black Hack. A trip down memory lane played with dear friends, and my 7 year old son came to the session. Old and new freinds around the table. Gaming has given me a wonderful gift for which I am incredibly grateful.

I gathered up some pictures from our regular gaming group and made a little video with them. I've been playing since 1986, but the current weekly group has been playing together since 1993. Not everyone who's played is in the pictures. Just a snippet. This is from 1996 to 2025.

I know about The Shadow and Doc Savage, but beyond DC & Marvel comics I read in the 80s, and somewhat recall, these are two pulp characters I am not as familiar with as I'd like. What would you recommend I read to correct that? What would be the best Shadow and Doc Savage content I should consume?

Tuesday our weekly gaming group played a special session, the six regular players in the group plus Sara who hadn't played with us since 2016, and Emilio who was there in 1986 for my very first sessions of D&D, and last played with me in 1996.

These past few years, despite being a compulsive tabletop homebrewer, I've gotten to play two published settings I love. Ravenloft Masque of the Red Death & Fading Suns. Now I have to run a Torg campaign. I've run short adventures and I ran a prequel campaign. But I'd love to run a proper campaign.

I did hate that XXVc had no consistency in how characters and beings were described. For example, Terrines and Black Barney were described differently in the game, the novels and looked different in the awful comic modules. In Arrival Barney was described as a red eyed cyborg. Next summer will be my 40th anniversary playing rpgs. So I've made a list of all the #ttrpg I've played at least once. This includes my homebrewed systems and those developed by friends. With the Eldritch Hack yesterday, the grand total is 98! I want to have played at least 100 by 2026.

I ran a special #Halloween session 🎃 for our regular gaming group tonight. Using the Eldritch Hack #ttrpg, I ran The Dare a Call of Cthulhu adventure, for five or our regular six players, and two of their significant-others. It was a lot of fun.

I've spent the last few years in a nostalgia trip, longing for new versions of two games I love, Fading Suns and Torg. Ulisses Spiel has published both, and I'm currently running a year long Fading Suns campaign, but not using their system. I'm using Savage Worlds.

I am a fan of OSR #ttrpg (not so of gatekeepers, intolerance, and their ilk), there are two things that turn me off a game, and I know are common to a lot of them. Separate XP tables for different classes, and the classic spread of saves (Death Ray, Wands, Paralysis, Dragon Breath, and Spells).
