An experiment with toned paper with watercolor. Idea was that areas I left lighter would already have a tone, and just a light wash of color would create a fresh, non-overworked look. Papers' texture was not worth the effort, I had to get back to my old paper midway. #art #watercolor #illustration

I put so much effort into colors, but sometimes it can be helpful to convert a sketch or a finished piece into black and white. Check if the values work without colors. I would have made it more varied if I were to paint in black and white, but it's not bad at all! #art #illustration #watercolor

Another practice in yellows. In watercolor, colors can be applied directly or built up by layering shadows in blue-violet-grey tones before adding the base color. Layering sometimes gives it interesting moments of pleasant inaccuracies. Well, on to the next one... #art #watercolor #illustration
