Been working on a lot of Horus Heresy stuff this month. Heresy-era Death Guard are a simple scheme, and it feels nice to get an entire unit, or even a vehicle, done in a few hours. Being from 7th, I like the rules, but it doesn't feel like "real Warhammer" without the Xenos armies...

I found more joy in life this way.

Took a break from painting an ungodly number of cultists to bang out a #warhammer Salamander as a local contest demonstrator. New recipe made this so much easier than my old ways. I'm excited to get back to my OG boys after a long trip around the rest of the hobby.

Finished the Terminators. Three of them were my first attempts at batch-painting with this method instead of focusing on figuring things out one by one. The worst parts right now are hazard-striping and even griming. Next set will have more basing efforts, hopefully. #warhammer

Mostly finished with the Warpsmith now, and I banged out a Terminator while I was at it. This is the least colorful Warhammer army I've ever done, and sometimes I'm struggling to figure out places to put more color...

Finally got back on the painting train after being able to do some priming this week. Northern winters are awful for this hobby... My next Warhammer army's going to be Iron Warriors. I thought it would be cool to give them a "mud, blood, and crud" look, but I could only finish one torso for now.

When were y'all gonna tell me that my boy Sniper Elite isn't even the main character in the new one? They got like, Doctor Whomst or some nonsense instead. Out here like "Cor, that were a right spiffing spot, weren't it?".

Did the store's first Spearhead game for 4th edition AoS today! I need a few more rounds before I can figure out how I feel about it, but everything seems pretty tight on the balancing. It might end up being better than Warhammer 40k's Combat Patrol format. Maybe.

Horus Heresy marine kits are weirdly "chunky". I don't mean this in a bad way. It just feels like they're meatier than Primaris marines. Probably because they're more stout. Not a huge fan of "pay 40 bucks for weapon options", though. Peak Warhammer pricing.

Nothing like priming a Dreadnought piecemeal and having it come apart as you're putting the limbs back on. Bonus points because the dude got put into his sarcophagus after being bisected... which is how the model came apart. Space Marine wondering why this keeps happening to him.

I've been busy, but I did manage to cut together these pictures from some recent Warhammer matches for a Crusade league. It's been pretty fun. It's nice actually feeling like there's consequences to the matches.

At first I thought I disliked putting together vehicles, but now I have it figured out. It's anything where you need to make a "box". Which is a problem when you're putting together a pyramid for Warhammer. Made of boxes. Stacked on top of each other. It's basically my final boss.

The spirit was willing, but the wallet was weak. As if out of divine spite in response to my last post, the local store put all its (non-Warhammer) wargames at 30% off. So I did pick up some Team Yankee stuff...

I need to stop going by the hobby shop right after work and seeing all the things I could pick up to gather dust. Battletech! Because anybody will ever read, let alone understand, the rules! Team Yankee! Because anybody else in the area likes Cold War wargaming! One plastic hoard at a time...

Wrapped up the Escalation League for Warhammer 40k yesterday by fighting off a Daemon Primarch and his cronies! I ended up going 3-0 with what sounds like a commanding points lead, but we won't know the overall results for a while.

I have a very scale-filled... surprise? Is it a surprise? I don't know. Anyway, I'm gearing up to be able to present it in the near future. The weather is not cooperating very well for my wishes.

So there was no way I was gonna pay 40 bucks for some Warhammer datasheets, especially when I already had most of the profiles drilled down. But at the same time, I kept forgetting units' special rules... I also finished my Jump Intercessor squad. Not a huge fan of this kit, but it will do.

Late weekend Warhammer uploads. And I guess my hobby progress for the week. We ended up doing a huge 2v1 battle on Friday. Necrons and Marines vs a kitbashed Traitor Guard regiment. I also finally put my Repulsor together and got some new Terminators built./
