No one runs for time, for distance, for health, for fun. The truth? We keep running in pursuit of the perfect shoe. One that feels exactly right every wear. Some find that only to have the brand change it for the worse a year later. The cycle begins again. It has always been and will always be this.

Anyone else watching Small Prophets on BBC? Very similar vibe to Detectorists but a lot more melancholic. No surprise really as Mackenzie Crook is behind it. Really lovely, gentle television.

I just did a 5K run. My toe didn’t fall off.

My toe protested the following day and yesterday I caught it with the wheel of a shopping trolley and hit it on the end of the bed twice while asleep. Running is postponed again.

The Fiery Priest on Netflix has turned out to be one of the most enjoyable K-dramas so far. Often very dark but also very funny, almost slapstick. Like a comedy John Wick. It shouldn’t work but it does. Korean TV is hands down far more interesting than a lot of what comes out of the UK and US.

Tofu and chickpea curry. I have this down to a T. Always delicious.

Finally took my bad toe for a run. Also my first run since having my worst cold for years. The run was awful but my toe only twinged. We go again tomorrow. #runningpunks

Despite depression and burn out I’ve been forcing myself to run 4-5 times per week. This week was a good one. Just done 6 miles and hit 20 for the week. Nothing compared to some but I’ve not run much these last months.
