Agreed. It’s meant to be uncomfortable with its imagery and is, but his point of view on the entertainment industry of the time comes through directly and with a sense of tragedy by the end. He was also very smart to deliver it with humor in order to ease us into his statements. Well-done.

I was happily surprised by “Bamboozled”. There are times where I’ve criticized Lee’s work for trying to tackle too much at once, but this is one of his most focused, sharpest, and thoughtful outings that also had me laughing at its satirical jabs. All these years later, it holds up wonderfully.
