Virginia Hume's last book, HAVEN POINT, was an absorbing family drama, and her next book, LIBERTY ISLAND (May), promises the same kind of reading experience.

Psychological suspense I'm eager to read: Ashley Elston's ANATOMY OF AN ALIBI (Jan), Joshilyn Jackson's MISSING SISTER (March), T. M. Logan's ROOM IN THE ATTIC (Jan), and more adventure than psychological, but Stephen Fishbach's ESCAPE! is based on his Survivor experiences. #ewgc

I'm a huge fan of "industry insiders" type of nonfiction and James Martin's WORK IN PROGRESS appears to be a quick and informative read. #ewgc

If Rachel Lithgow inherited any of her father's (John Lithgow) talent and charm, her memoir, YEAR OF REALLY BAD DATES (early November), should be an interesting book. #ewgc

One of my favorite novelists is Alison Winn Scotch, and her next book, INSOMNIACS (April), has a very intriguing premise -- a combo of "found family" and a mystery. Can't wait to read it. #ewgc

Shannon McKenna Schmidt writes engaging nonfiction, and she has found her niche in researching and writing about lesser-known events of famous women. Her next book, YOU CAN'T CATCH US, is about Lady Bird Johnson's 1964 campaign train for her husband, Lyndon B., and is now available as a DRC. #ewgc

Laura Dave's THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM, a sequel to THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME, comes out in early January. I'm finally ready to dive in now that I was able to read the ending of the first book, so I could remember how it ended! #ewgc

I'm so torn regarding the next Murderbot Diaries title, PLATFORM DECAY, featuring everyone's favorite SecUnit. I am eager to read it, but six months is a long time to wait for the GraphicAudio version. Decisions, decisions... #ewgc

I'm finally here and ready to roll. Starting out with Catherine Newman's sequel SANDWICH, my favorite book from 2024. WRECK continues Rocky's somewhat chaotic life with an unknown illness and continued middle-aged travails. Loved it. To be released in late October. #ewgc

Here to quickly mention Linda Hamilton's FOURTH WIFE (March), which lives up to its billing of a "Mormon gothic" with a compelling historical account of the "4th wife" moving to a crumbling manor (with a ghost?) to live with sister wives. Fab mix of Victoria Holt and Haunting of Hill House. #ewgc

We all love books about books, right? So I am eager to read 3 new titles: THIS BOOK MADE ME THINK OF YOU, a novel by Libby Page (February), and two nonfiction titles, EVERY DAY I READ by Hwang Bo-reum (December) and BOOKISH by Lucy Mangan (February). #ewgc

Almost forgot to mention the memoir I am uber excited to read, Cameron Crowe's UNCOOL, coming in late October. DRC is on Edelweiss.

I am excited to see two forthcoming books by two of my favorite authors. There are no DRCs yet but I will download them as soon as they appear. Willy Vlautin's THE LEFT AND THE LUCKY comes out next April, and Cynthia Sweeney's LAKE EFFECT comes out in March. #ewgc

I am eager to read THE ANTHONY BOURDAIN READER (October). It has been a busy year for "foodie" books, with at least 15 titles on my list for a future blog post. We do love our books about chefs and restaurants! #ewgc

Matt Goldman has another new suspense thriller coming out in April, LIAR'S CREEK, and it will have to do until the next Nils Shapiro mystery is finished. However, that's not necessarily a hardship. #ewgc

Until Janet Evanovich comes out with another Stephanie Plum mystery, I'm going to have to make do with her next release, KING'S RANSOM (November). Appears to be a fun romp, as hers usually are. I am hoping to wait until I can get it in audio. #ewgc

Has anyone read the Booker nominee novel by Kiran Desir, THE LONELINESS OF SONIA AND SUNNY (September)? It's a little daunting at 700 pages, but I hear it flows pretty smoothly. #ewgc

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO LORI LOVELY by Sarah McCoy is a, well, lovely novel inspired by the life of Mother Delores Hart, an actress from the 1950s who became a Benedictine nun. Perfect for fans of SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO. #ewgc

Greetings, everyone! Today, my book of choice is HOW TO BE A SAINT by Kate Sibley (August), and hoo boy, it's quite a read! Sacriligious and irreverent but oh so hilarious. Reminds me a bit of Christopher Moore's LAMB in the hilarity factor. #ewgc

Has anyone been watching clips from the revival of Jesus Christ Superstar from the Hollywood Bowl featuring Cynthia Erivo and Adam Lambert? If not, and you are a fan, look up some of the clips, especially Enrivo's "Gethsemame." It is stunning. #ewgc

Has anyone watched the Murderbot series on Apple+? I was eager to watch them but then heard they weren't nearly as good as the books. I have to subscribe to the service, plus I'm miserly with my TV watching time, so don't want to waste $ and time. :-) #ewgc

I hear good things about Patrick Ryan's epic BUCKEYE, a literary historical novel set in a small town. One of the comparisons is to Ann Patchett's TOM LAKE and I'm always up for a Patchette readalike. #ewgc

It's time to talk books! I just finished Sarah McCoy's WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO LORI LOVELY, and it was, well, lovely. Appealing characters and a compelling story made for a very readable novel. Kind of saw the ending coming but that didn't matter a fig. #ewgc @librarylovefest
