As of this moment, I have the entire row of seats to myself on my international leg. Crossing all my appendages this does not change. There are a lot of open seats.

I intend to raw dog this entire trip, doing nothing but staring at the in-seat infotainment screen with the world map displayed showing the plane limping across the Atlantic.

My issue with winter air travel: dressing appropriately for the car ride to the airport, then the temps inside the airport, then the temps inside the plane, then the temps at the destination.

At the airport, so excited to be 🛫 today. No, really.

I’m taking luggage like I’m leaving for a month (large checked piece—half empty, carry-on soft piece —mainly for my winter coat, and small cross-chest bag for my personal item). I’m gone for less than a week. Just wait until I get there and realize what I forgot.

To prepare for travel, I stage all the components on my spare bed, eventually consolidating them into the suitcase. The visual of the components helps me realize what I’m missing and what is excessive.

I’ve pulled enough long-sleeved shirts to make it through this trip. When debating winter coats, I found my favorite leather jacket. Fuck yes, that’s what I’m wearing. Shirts are all musty from hanging…in for a quick launder.

I just have no desire to get off this sofa and put the fries in the bag I mean the clothes in the suitcase.

I’m feeling really defeated this afternoon. It’s a combination of ‘things,’ plus being hungry and tired. This next week is going to be long and stressful, and feeling defeated right now isn’t making me feel any better about it.

Last day at work for a week as I travel to Deutschland (on the weekend and a holiday grr) to tell them why they can’t easily fix their problems and just deal with them until they build a new facility. And then return back to a pile of crap on my desk from the week I was gone.
