Spent yesterday at Necronomicon Tampa and got to listen to Seanan McGuire talk about cryptids (her brain is a treasure), saw and bought some really neat art, and got this picture of Timothy Zahn absolutely delighted at making a new bird friend. Tiny con, highly recommend!

We encourage you to go to the small cons, the ones that don't have special ticket pricing to see the guests, the ones that truly are by fans for fans. Fandom is for everyone.

You may wonder why we post other people's cons. It's because we want everyone to have as much fun as they can.

Today is the birthday of cartoonist. Ham Fisher (Sept. 24, 1900-Dec. 27, 1955). He created the comic strip Joe Palooka, which was adapted into a radio show, films, comic books, and a tv series. And he also really, really, really hated fellow cartoonist Al Capp.
