Put myself down for volunteering a parkrun, either New Year's Day or January 3rd at Huntingdon. Not quite sure I've got two runs in 48 hours in me yet. Doing Christmas Day in Worthing and seeing how I go, Lancing on 27th (if I'm good to go or I'll volunteer it). I'm all in.

I wore this to the pub. As I was getting a drink, a woman standing next to me was having a hard look at the badge to see which shirt it was. "Is that... Ireland", she said quizically. I had to point to something about the shirt that made it a little more obvious.

With the amount of rain today and probably tomorrow, my parkrun options might be a little limited but I'll be out there. I owe it to myself and those who have passed away in my life this year.

I'm looking up methods to improve my leg strength for parkruns. The rest of me for a 51 year old isn't too bad, breathing has improved, but legs always feel a little heavy. I've had some great suggestions so far.

Bearing in mind the second half was into a strong wind and six hours plus of driving yesterday, 41 seconds off my best is a good effort. I wasn't expecting much so I'm pleased. Worst weather I've done a parkrun in so that's now the minimum bar to go out.

Terrible journey down to see dad for the weekend in Sussex but arrived safely. Lancing parkrun in the morning, as I'm half a mile walk from it, Worthing FC in the afternoon and a pub meal in the evening with dad. Full day.

Listening to Trump pardoning the turkey, starting to think what the did turkey had done to deserve that.

That's been a lovely weekend with volunteering at a parkrun, Inspiral Carpets in Northampton and relaxing day with some homemade soup. I hope one day to meet someone to share times like these with, that's all that could make it better, but I'll keep plodding on until regardless.

My volunteering at parkrun while looking at the rain look nailed.

Remembering my great friend Clarkie who passed away on this day 2006. Every year, I remember him with a pint of Guinness. Forever 43.

A couple of firsts for me this weekend. I'm doing my first full parkrun volunteering on Saturday, marshal and whatever else to help Huntingdon run smoothly. And then first music gig this decade with the Inspiral Carpets in the evening, first since 2016 when I saw Billy Joel.

Tackle wealth inequality. The poor are not in that situation because of the worst off in society, underprivileged, migrants and those trying to get to the next paycheck. They are there because the rich won't pay their share.

Duncan, Sean, Norbert, Tim, Trevor, Tony, Keith. I've lost seven friends, acquaintances and family since July 13th. The news each time hits a little harder so a little down right now. I'm really going to try my best to live my life a little better, get what I can out of it.

Delighted to hear another of my friends did their first parkrun today in Littlehampton, I hope to join this for a run in the near future. Met a chap called Mark today, came from Poole at 1.20am to run at Bug Hunter Waters north of Cambridge.... and then went straight back home. What dedication.

I missed my best parkrun time by one second. That's the best I've felt since starting this back in August.

First weather affected parkrun weekend coming right up. Hopefully not as bad as it could be but will head to one with a permanent track. Peterborough is the likely option.

My luck. Mobile hasn't been charging properly for days and tonight, not charging at all. EE are sending a new phone out tomorrow. Get off the phone, put it on charge, leave it 15 minutes. It's now charging. Brenda Spencer was right, I don't like Monday's.

This is what parkrun has done for me. I never expected to have got so much support from friends and family. I'll make the start as often as I can for people like Duncan, Sean, Norbert, Tim and my dad's cousin Trevor that we've lost since July. Thanks to the Bluesky people too.

Just over a minute slower than my best, plodded from around just over 2km. The biggest achievement is when you didn't feel your best but still did it anyway. Just another parkrun Saturday.

Parkrun day, back to Huntingdon and I'm doing my first volunteer by helping to pack away after.

Going to get some new running shoes next month. Need comfort and durability, the ones I have currently are good but probably have about another 6-9 months of quality left and for once, I'll have some money to spend. Any recommendations?
