Saw SIRAT tonight at the BFI IMAX. Spectacular piece of film making that will stay with you for a very long time. The music too is fantastically filthy (what distortion!).. Warning though - the whole experience is ridiculously intense.. still trying to calm down hours later…

Ended 2025 randomly discovering actual original manuscripts by Beethoven (insanely chaotic pen work beat by beat!), Mozart and Messiaen (very tidy which is insane as written in a POW camp) in Paris.. absolutely breathtaking and made me a little bit emotional.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Really sad to hear the icon that was Jilly Cooper has died. In one of the more surreal elements of my life I met her at a dinner once, got on great and she got really into my music (which was very unexpected!). We would trade Xmas cards every year, hers always covered in dogs and her tiny writing.
