I think Trump decided to attack Iran: He was emboldened by SCOTUS immunity decision. He knows the spineless Congressional Republicans won't challenge him. The attack in Venezuela/ Maduro capture went smoothly. Netanyahu convinced he would be a hero if the US joined Israel in the Iran war.

Seems we already knew this during Trump's first term.
