291,000 children ages 3 to 13 in NYC have experienced 1 to 3 adverse childhood experiences, which can increase the risk for chronic health conditions like heart disease and diabetes. We're helping caregivers and schools support youth to prevent and address these experiences. #mentalhealthmatters

It is estimated that 21 million cases of depression among American adults could be prevented by addressing adverse childhood experiences, which can include abuse, neglect, or other forms of harm to well-being. #mentalhealthmatters

34% of NYC adults with a diagnosed mental illness have had an unmet need for mental health treatment. The consequences of this can be profound, potentially leading to worsening symptoms and reduced quality of life. It's crucial to increase care availability and affordability. #mentalhealthmatters

Access to school-based #mentalhealth care matters! 16% of children aged 5 to 13 receive school-based counseling, but some students who may need support lack access due to factors such as limited resources and stigma. This is why we're working to provide more youth access to mental health services.

15% of NYC children who are 3 to 13 years old have a mental health diagnosis, with the most common being anxiety. We're increasing access to mental health support early on to help address these issues before they escalate. #mentalhealthmatters
