It’s #caturday and we lost our oldest. Miss Phoebe was seventeen. A sweet girl and the last of a litter we rescued with their momma as newborns. It is true that time goes faster as we age. Seventeen years is a blip. A life is a blip. As Ram Dass said: we are all just walking each other home.

Yesterday I finished this and today I finished it again. Memory Wall: An homage to our unlikely heros. Those who stand up for what is right. Even when they are just going about their day, minding their business. Being a good person has become a dangerous thing. Being kind, loving our neighbor. #art

I went to the studio today. It took a lot to get me out in the cold. Finished one of the paintings on the wall. Calling it Pterodactyl. A flesh eating dinosaur that flies. A reminder that monsters (even the modern day types) die. Chaos does not have to be our legacy. #art #painting

I did something that I haven’t done in a long time. Painted an entire canvas with my hands. Honest work. Up close and personal. This could become a thing. Rocinanti: otherwise known as Don Quixote’s horse. An old soul past his prime. But in Quixote’s imaginings, a majestic beast. #art #painting

I now have two walls filled with these roadmap/landscape-ish canvases. Maybe a subconscious nod to the Fauves. The intention was to navigate away from the animal shapes to a more non objective frame. This piece is smaller 36x44. Oil. I like it enough to continue with this palette. For now. #art
