I've changed what I post about, but I think it's more due to my interests shifting than due to switching platforms. I have a much smaller following here, so I guess having a more quiet voice than I used to makes me feel like I don't have to be as consistent and active. But maybe that's just aging.

My apartment is way too cold right now and the obvious solution is to turn on the heating, but I’ve been really enjoying my electricity bill being $30 a month all summer. 😭 Heat is what makes it expensive.

When I took a similar class in undergrad 8 years ago, I wrote my paper on the inaccuracies of the cdrama Les Interprètes. My professor was like, "unusual topic but go ahead" 😂

One of my favourite things to do in grad school is always to shift any paper I have to write towards my pre-existing interests. I have a paper to write for my practical interpretation class and watch me redirect it to American imperialism during the Cold War.

The difference of steps I walked between the day of my friend’s wedding (on top of a mountain) vs the day after (where everything ached) is kind of hilarious to me

You can measure very precisely how often someone visits my apartment based on how much I clean beforehand. My mom? No cleaning whatsoever. My dad? I hide the worst offenders. My friend who moved to BC? It used to be left as is but now I make some efforts. First time visiting? Spotless.

Got my phone back from repairs, and I’m now going to be paranoid over dropping it again for the foreseeable future.

Good thing I kept my very old phone. No SIM card in it of course but I can use it with wifi until I get my actual phone fixed (I’m leaving it alone in fear of breaking it more). This thing is like 11 years old so it barely works, but it’s better than nothing.

I really gotta hand it to Lululemon for the quality of their garments, because I fell on the way down the trail, hard enough to create a big bloody hole in my knee, and there's not a single scratch on my pants. 😂

The thing with finding Chinese composers and their soundtracks online is that it's exhausting. I have to navigate Chinese websites that I can barely access without an account and look for the one (1) mention of the artist. I know how to do it, and I do it, but it often gives me a headache.

Once in a while I do a news check with my parents just to see what international news non-chronically online people are exposed to. They read the newspaper and listen to the radio and that’s it. Usually after that I have to spend a hot minute informing them of the major stuff they weren’t told.

I would watch more male booktubers if they actually read books written by women. It’s honestly bewildering to watch someone talk about all their favourite books or all the books they’ve read recently and there’s not a single woman in the list. We’re half the population.

I wanted to close my eyes, so I decided to keep reading Frankenstein with the audiobook & that’s how I realized that my physical copy is the 1831 version, aka the censored version. 🤦‍♀️ I just placed an emergency order for the 1818 version because I want the actual text, not its watered down creature!
