This week, we covered how new media changes old media (without killing it), the history of computer interfaces, and AI ethics. It's a reminder that we're part of a bigger digital story.

The focus of my studies may have shifted significantly. Now if I can just figure out how to tie DH into this, I think it'll be well worth it...

Frustrated with my laptop this week in coding class! A simple bug turned into a full-on debugging mission. It wasn't the code—it was the install. A big lesson in persistence and problem-solving.

Okay, so this is a thing that happened. I'm a nobody on the internet. I'm a relatively small voice with virtually no weight at the moment, and Samsung Customer Service STILL took the time to respond.

Today’s GTL sessions focused on handling challenges with empathy and creating discussions that spark real connection. GTL may be wrapped, but the lessons will carry forward into every classroom ahead.

This is actually pretty cool. My media was highlighted by the Edmonton Queer History Project peeps.

I just completely upped my game. Now all my course work, text books, and information related to my Master's program is available through one specific program called Obsidian. I can add tags, see a cloud map of ideas and thoughts that are interconnected, etc. LET'S GOOOOO!

I just donated the entirety of my media collection from out Pride Parade (481 photos and an almost hour long video) to the Queer event archiving service in my city so it can be saved for future generations. They deserve to know we were here, we were queer, and we didn't go without a fight.

On August 22, the Alberta Government allowed a known Christian Nationalist, so-called MAGA "superstar" who peddles 51st State rhetoric and calles for the government to be run only by Christians the space to play on the Alberta Legislature grounds.

Today was a reminder that great teaching goes beyond content. From lab strategies on safety, motivation & engagement to tips on presence & communication, the message was clear: planning + empathy = impactful teaching.
