Sunday on the Puna Coast. We've been hiking out here a couple of times a month for over twelve years. A little kipuka surrounded by a flow from 1972. Probably seen 10 people that whole time.

A high camp on the slope of the 1949 cone on the south edge of Mokuaweoweo Crater, Mauna Loa. 13,300 feet.

July 10, 1978. I wanted to get up to the top of Cloud Peak in the Bighorn Mountains, Wyoming ever since I first laid eyes on them. My first try was a bust due to bad weather by the time I got to Misty Moon Lake. Carried up four Coors for my celebration afterwards but ended leaving them with others.
