Inktober Day 10: Sweep 🧹 This is the iconic broom from my hometown in Vietnam, made from dried grass, tied with bamboo, and used in every household. I think the cleaning might escalate to something else here… 😘

Inktober Day 9: Heavy 🍑 The inspiration is Atlas — the Titan cursed to carry a massive globe on his shoulders. But instead of the mythic burden, I wanted to twist it into something more malicious: Heavy, yes… but also funny and kinda naughty. 😈

Inktober Day 8: Reckless 🎯🤹‍♂️ Nothing is more reckless than the human target act at the circus 🎪: absolute trust is required, because the slightest mistake could be fatal 😱 Oops… it came dangerously close to the spot! 🏹🔥

Inktober Day 7: Starfish Inspired by Taylor Swift’s “The fate of Ophelia”, I imagined a scene where a man dives into the depths to save his lover from drowning. Beneath the shimmering surface, their bodies drift and twist together and their movements trace the outline of a star.✨💫

Inktober Day 6: Pierce ⚡️
I imagined a night o alive under the glimmers of a disco ball that cracks open under the force of emotions, releasing flowers. 🌸 Flowers as metaphors for love, desire, nostalgia. As if music made feelings burst open to reveal what it keeps most intimate.

Inktober Day 5: Deer 🦌 Instead of a realistic drawing, I imagined a giant deer, majestic and wonderful, forming an unlikely friendship with a human. A quiet moment of connection between two beings from different worlds✨

Inktober Day 4: Murky This word reminded me of a beautiful song by Years & Years. There’s a verse that goes: « Well, nothing’s gonna hurt me with my eyes shut I can see through them (…) I am drawing pictures, I’m evading I will not use them »

Inktober Day 3: Crown 👑 Today, I found inspiration in history 📜. I looked up images of the crown of Bảo Đại, the 13th and last emperor of the Nguyễn Dynasty in Vietnam 🇻🇳. The design is full of detail and symbolism, and I couldn’t resist using it as a reference.

Inktober Day 2: Weave 🧵 In Vietnam, the traditional sewing art is embroidery, called thêu. Today, I imagined a man trapped in the threads of a pattern as if the design had come alive and caught him 😳. The lines wrap around him, entangled in the fabric of life, tradition, and expectation. ✨🪡.

Inktober Day 1: Mustache 👨🏻
Kicking things off with a tricky one, none of my characters actually rock a mustache, so I had to get a little inventive 🤔 When I think mustache, Salvador Dalí immediately comes to mind… so here’s my take on that iconic flair!
