Tonight’s gig at the New Morning. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Some beautiful guitar from Dujardin, with the great Manu Katche on drums. And I haven’t heard much accordion in this kind of setting before, but it really fitted in nicely.

In Fopp today, browsing Neil Young CDs, and I was just astonished by the price. These are standard UK issues in cardboard sleeves, and they are asking £28 each ($38 US). So I asked the assistant to check the price. She said there was no mistake - they had gone up recently. Madness.

Went shopping today and picked up these two. Both the band Bruford and Ant’s solo work will be new to me when I get around to playing them.

The sun is out and it’s not raining! Weird!

The promoter was selling these Kenny Wheeler CDs at last night’s Simcock/Rawicz gig. Unreleased session from 1995, produced by Evan Parker. Advance copies, it’s not officially out yet. So I thought I’d give it a try. Tomorrow though. It’s well past my bedtime.

Tonight’s gig. I hope it’s good because it’s absolutely bucketing down and I would be very happy to stay dry and warm at home!

Local Oxfam window this morning. Not cheap, but also not the kind of thing you see in charity shops every day. I did go in, hopeful of racks full of ECM, but sadly there were just those two.

Just bought tickets for Caravan and Yes. Caravan was a no-brainer as I was supposed to see them for the first time last year but something came up. Yes, a bit ambivalent as there’s only Steve Howe left from the ‘70s heyday, but I’m sure it will still be good. Last saw them at the Palladium in 2018.

I’m charged with getting Harry Styles tickets this morning for teenage daughter. The pressure is awful!
