A magical visit to Stubborn Dog Stack. Left a heart shaped piece of sea coal there for Florries Dad. Stunning stroll along beach to the tanks traps. Florrie met Olive from Cyres. Peach Melbas from cake shop. Finally RSPB for Christmas gifts and home for coffee and cakes. A splendid morning.

Visit to browse the 2nd hand book shops in Wigtown. Next a stroll around the pretty village of Garlieston (where the development of WW11 D-Day Mulberry Harbours took place). Finally, scenic drive to the Mull of Galloway. Then a breezy afternoon admiring the stunning scenery and lighthouse history.

Climbed up through the sun dappled woodland to reach the Hopetoun Monument near Haddington. Disappointed to find that the entrance gate which allows access to the steeply winding stairs and the 360⁰ view from the top is now padlocked. Guess it must be for health and safety reasons.
