Undocumented change to Storage Settings in Experimental build 26300.8289: the change volume size dialog now lets you switch between MB and GB units, previously it would only show sizes and let you enter sizes in MB.

The new "Available updates" section/experience can be enabled in build 26300.8289 with feature ID 60897831 (FoldedUpdateExperience), not available in the feature flags page just yet.

The (still not rolling out) modern Run dialog was updated in build 26300.8289 and now looks like this:

Windows 11 is getting a new accessibility feature: Screen Tint! Hidden in build 26300.8289, it has six preset tint colours (but you can set a custom one too), each with a brief description of what it's most helpful for, and a strength slider.

What timing! Build 26300.8289 FINALLY replaces the spinning dots on the login screen and shutdown/restart/etc. screens with the newer spinning animation seen on the boot screen. 🥳

With more talk and hope around UI consistency in Windows 11 recently, I really hope these old Win8 spinning dots on the login and shutdown/sign out/etc. screens finally get updated this year. Please.

Alongside the upcoming agenda view, Windows 11's Notification Center will soon let you choose whether you want to show/hide the focus session UI at the bottom. As of 26300.8276 (with the bits enabled), it is hidden by default, presumably to make way for said agenda view.

Today on "undocumented stuff in WIP": recent Dev/Beta builds added a bunch of touchpad options to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad! New: automatic scrolling at edge, accelerated scrolling, sliders for scroll and zoom speed, and single-finger scrolling.

If FAT32 formatting over 32 GB isn't working for you in the latest Dev/Beta builds, enable ID 60772592 (SFS_CD_BugFixes_2604).

First look at changes coming to Windows 11's pause updates option! The button/dropdown menu are being replaced with a button for a calendar view, which lets you choose a specific date to pause until (instead of 1 week, 2 weeks, etc. and having to manually resume early).

Really happy to see these performance improvements to storage settings in Dev, went from taking 9 seconds to load the page for a 150 GB volume in .8155 to < 1 second in .8170 🎉

Updated WIP Settings page shown in today's announcement blog post is present in build 26300.8170 and if you want to see it for yourself, it can be enabled with feature ID 61157505 (Flighting_PageV3).

It would be nice if an icon was added to "Troubleshoot sound problems" in the systray volume icon's context menu. "Diagnose network problems" got one in 24H2, would be cool for the consistency even if not super significant lol

If you're wondering, yes, the modernised Developer Mode confirmation dialog in Settings mentioned in 28020.1803's blog post is already in all other Insider paths (except 295xx) and retail with KB5079391 or newer (.8116+) installed, it just wasn't mentioned in their release notes.

Paint 11.2601.421.0 (for Insiders) adds an option to put a watermark on AI slop- I mean AI generated images. Off by default with options to always add one, or ask you every time you save AI generated images.

Latest Notepad app update for Insiders (11.2512.28.0) removes Copilot branding from the write/rewrite/summarize tools. They're now simply called "Writing Tools" and the icon is now a sparkly pen.

More bits: the new feature flags page will have a button to reset all flags to their default state. (+ Apply Changes button)

The printers and scanners settings page in Windows 11 will soon be updated to show little shield icons next to the names of printers that support Windows Protected Print Mode.

Since the announcement specified that only "select markets" would get Xbox Mode/FSE to start, you might be wondering what markets *won't* get it. The EEA will not get it in April.

When the upcoming agenda view in notification center (still not rolling out!) first showed up in builds late last year, there was no way to hide it. Newer builds now have an option to show/hide it which can be found next to the date.

The (still hidden) migrated "Change account name" option in Settings now works properly in build 26300.7965!

It looks like the ability to remove unwanted quick actions from Windows 11's quick settings menu is finally returning! Hidden in build 26300.7965 is an updated energy saver quick setting which supports this (removing it doesn't work just yet, though). Hopefully more follow suit.

Make Print Screen key yieldable This policy setting determines whether the Print Screen key can be yielded to other applications. If you enable this policy setting, the print Screen key can be intercepted by applications, allowing them to override the default screenshot functionality. 26300.7877

The option to change user account name is finally being migrated from Control Panel to Settings. Here it is in 26300.7877, doesn't work just yet (see duplicated "Change account *type*" button that opens the dialog for changing between standard user and administrator)
