Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring! The river temp was 64.9F (18.3C) but the air temp had warmed quite a bit and the manatee count dropped to 262. The adoptees in were Doc (pictured here - he was posing for the camera again today!), Ester, Gator, Brutus, Philip, Floyd, Annie, Una and Phyllis.

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park! The river temp was 69.1F (20.6C). Pretty warm, but the wind chill had the air temp down in the thirties. We counted 83 manatees for the roll call including adoptee Howie (pictured here - a photo from earlier in the season).

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park! The river temp today was 68F (20C). We only had 19 manatees at roll call, most of them juveniles and no adoptees today.

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park! The river temperature warmed up to 66.9F (19.4C) and we counted 50 manatees in the spring run, no adoptees today. A little cold front is predicted for early next week.

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park! The river temperature stayed the same as yesterday with 65.5F (18.6C) and we counted 166 manatees. The adoptees present today were Gator, Ester and Moo Shoo. After the count was over we assisted with the release of manatee "Mandalore".

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park! The river temperature was up to 66F (18.9C) and SMC counted 138 manatees. The only adoptee in today was Phyllis (pic here with an unrelated calf). She was also on the webcam on Saturday and Sunday. Adoptee Lily was also on the webcam on Saturday.

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park The river warmed up a bit more to 61.5F (16.4C) and the manatee count dropped slightly to 233. Most manatees were congregated closer to the river with only a few up the run. The adoptees seen today during roll call were Philip, Lily, Una, and Doc.

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park! The river had warmed up to 60.4F (15.8C) and 289 manatees were in the spring incl. adoptees Nick (pictured here), Gator, Philip and Una. After the count we assisted with the releases of 3 manatees - more to come on that!

It’s a fact! As far as we know, manatees do not show any dominance between a left or right flipper. Flippers are used to ‘walk’ along the bottom, and while their tails propel them through the water, the flippers are used to steer and change direction. savethemanatee.org/facts

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park! The river temp was 55.6F (13.1C). This was a bit of a rise and our count during the roll call was 588 manatees. Our adoptees in today were Flash, Margarito, Howie, Floyd, Phyllis, Phillip, Doc, Gator, Lily, and Whiskers.

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring State Park! The cold continued and brought more manatees in. The river had cooled down to 61F (16.1C) and SMC counted 593 manatees. The adoptees seen were Annie, Aqua, Gator, Doc, Floyd, Whiskers, Rocket, Una, and Lily.

Latest Manatee Update from Blue Spring The cold front moved in overnight, but the river temperature was still at 64F (17.8C). The park staff counted 241 manatees. Annie was the only adoptee spotted – many more may have been there.
