Great volunteer work party along the Great Central Railway Line (South Notts) over the weekend. Big thanks to all 20 volunteers for your hard work and enthusiasm. We create two new scallops in the cutting by East Leake station and maintained the existing clearings. Good work!

The winters grizzled skipper volunteer work parties started today at Flawborough, East Notts. This was the first of five work parties. Great turn out, 18 enthusiastic and hard working volunteers. Excellent work creating some open areas for the butterflies to enjoy in spring 2019

Tonight I'm out under the stars at the amazing Archway House in Sherwood (near Edwinstowe). Just walked the central path and picked out at least 15 glow worms Lampyris noctiluca. What a great way to start the weekend.

Chris Gleed-Owen has given us food for thought. The potential to reintroduce adder in Notts, done wisely, could be a great project for the county. Can partners in Notts come together to make this happen?

Chris Gleed-Owen will join us to talk about the possibility of adder reintroduction into Notts. Suffering declines across Britain, the adder has been lost from several English counties in recent decades. The last Nott's population is believed extinct since the early 2000's.

With just over a week to go before this years Annual Forum it's a chance to review this years speakers. The theme is 'species conservation work in Notts' and the morning lectures will focus on species reintroduction work. 120 people from 49 organisations will be attending.

Hi Paul, completely agree with your suggestion. The trapping in this case was part of a piece of research being undertaken with a student at NTU. The aim is to establish geographically the biggest threats to white-clawed in Notts.
