Flea Market Friday again - cold and overcast but the vendors were in good supply. Picked up this adorable ASUS PC in a tiny tower case for $5. Just look at it! Not sure what CPU/specs yet. The guy had a stack of laptops as well - he said normally they are bought for scrap. :(

Today, at the flea, found this Packard Bell tower on a table. I asked price and lady went into story mode, she had it listed on eBay for $250, didn't want to ship. Hounded me for an offer, finally told me her bottom dollar was $50. Against better judgement, I brought it home...

Busy weekend but I did see some things at the flea (finally). Saturday I saw this HP Pavilion PIII tower for$10. Tempting, but port door broken off. These weren't great PCs in their day, but I remember friends having them. Tiny PSU and everything packed in tight...

Picked up this Nuby Sniper PlayStation light-gun today at the flea for $5. It’s pretty grungy and unknown if it works but figured I’d enjoy cleaning it up and testing it out for that price. (Also bonus power adapter wrapped around it).

Been a dry spell at the flea market recently - but a family member fished this Compaq tower out of bulk garbage for me. Shame it is missing the drive bays cover door, but looks to be unspoiled and even has FireWire ports.

Didn't see much this Flea Market Friday beyond the usual unremarkable laptops that are everywhere. Did see this very crusty Dell Inspiron E1705. I can only imagine the horror inside the thing - fitting with Halloween so close :)

Found this cute i-Dog Amp'd for $5 at the flea market today. Batteries were dead but thankfully, it seems I got to it just in time. Only one had just started getting a little crusty. The plastic is yellowing, which is common for these but overall it's in good shape, I'd say!

This was my modest haul from the VCF East Swap Meet: Mac Laptop w/ charger -$20, Flight Sim and upgrade - $10, couple USB cards -$5 each, 2 video cards and SB Live card -free, a $2 lenovo PSU (didn't fit the W701ds, sadly), D&D Char Creator CD -$1, and a Lumix LX5 for $20!

Called it a day at the VCF Swap Meet - I’d call it a big success! Sold all but two small items and picked up few things (more on that later). Turnout was good. Prices ranged as usual but there were some deals to be had.

Had some time to try out the demo for Cosmic Invasion. Enjoyed it though had to get used to not every character having a grab or throw which made for some awkward consequences! Still had a lot of fun with the included roster and trying out their supers. Looking forward to see who else will join.

Hit up the yard sales yesterday - picked up a couple things: An Xbox One S for $10 and an NES for $10 w/ 2 controllers and Wheel of Fortune. Xbox only came with an HDMI cable, but I've been looking for one to replace my broken One X that stopped powering on...

Flea Market Friday - didn't pick up anything but saw a very sad looking eMac with a $40 (guy said it was a monitor). Also a TerraNova PC game box but missing the actual game. Didn't ask price, box was a bit wet and disks weren't that interesting, imho.

Yesterday was yard sales, found this one interesting Panasonic radio/tv combo for $5. I swear I'm not trying to collect these but it was just neat and cheap - asking to be tinkered with.

Busy weekend - updates to come. Made it out to the flea this morning and found a few things. Most notable, saw a boxed Nikon CoolPix 995 - I have one, unboxed, but this had basically everything. I was half hoping for a high price so I could resist, but at $10 it had to come home.

Mystery Flea Market find today - Saw this generic PC guy was selling for $10. Saw that it still had video and audio cards, so seemingly intact and for that price, it'll be fun to find out what is inside...

Flea Market Friday time - picked up some sticks of PC100 and PC66 RAM from this bin for $2 (the PC100 were 512mb, which is always a nice find)...

One thing I love to do on my travels is hitting the various thrift stores and let me tell you there's thrifting and then there's junking. Western North Carolina offers a bit of both for the brave. LGR needs to expand his horizons beyond Goodwill! 😄

Lots to post about from the past week. Let's start with this Apple IIc set I saw at a flea Sat, Aug 30th. The price was staggering, asked the guy about it. He told me it came from a house cleanout, he'd 'googled' it and saw one for $1100 and was /only/ asking $500 for this one...

My buddy was on his lunch walk today and happened to spot this and fish it out for me - someone tossed a digital Leica (digilux 4.3) camera in the bin. Uses SmartMedia cards for memory so, older model and low MP/ISO but it works just fine and looks neat! Happy it was saved.

Was really tempted to get this Philips 9" TV for $10 at the flea today, but I have one and I couldn't tell if the marks were scrapes in the glass or just sticker residue/gunk. The guy also mentioned a $50 eBay value that set off the 'this tv is likely not working' flag...

Flea Market Friday again - spotted this SoudBlaster Live box with the software CDs in front of it (I put them back in for photo). PCI SB Live is okay-ish BUT I saw one driver CD was for the AWE64 so I checked the card in the box and it was decidedly NOT PCI...

No finds at the flea today other than picking up Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S. for $5. I do like the version of Mecha Godzilla in this one. Fitting as well since I'm planning to catch Shin Godzilla 4k this weekend in the theaters. Kaiju weekend - go! :)

It was a camcorder kind of day at the flea today - also saw a MacBook, it was charged and working but for $40, meh. Likely a Core2Duo machine. Fine if you just wanted one since it was testable on the spot but I have one already...

Nice weather for the flea markets today - Picked up an Olympus C-211 Zoom Printing Camera for $5 (mainly for the 128mb Smart Media card in it) and a Sony Watchman for $10. It's sad you can't get the polaroid film for the camera anymore, 2nd one of these I've had...

Flea Market Friday time - Saw another of these cool Nikon cameras, guy wanted $20. Not horrible, but I have a working one already. There was a similar styled Ricoh beside it - tempting but I assume it was same price which is a bit too high, imho...

Aside from the G4, also picked up this neat Archos portable media player (basically like an iPod Touch) for $10 also at the flea. Very complete - figured it'd be fun to tinker with. Not sure if battery will charge but it at least worked when I plugged it up back home.

G4 MDD with monitor at the flea today, guy kept reducing price to get me to take it, I took at chance at $30. Mainly hoping the monitor might work so I'd finally have one to match the G4 towers. It is a bit crusty near the fan - moisture getting in but not too bad...

Hit the yard sales today and the flea to make up for the rainout yesterday. Few fun pickups! Couple Starlink accessories for $1 ea, Monty Python Laser Disc $5, Xbox One controller $5, N64 Controller for $9, and Wings out of Shadow for Apple IIe for $9...

One small pickup today-this Compute Guide to Super NES Games for $2. I’m familiar with the Compute magazines for computer stuff, didn’t know there was a console games tips/codes book. Makes sense, though.

Couple flea market pickups today - Got (another) Sony DSC-S50 for $5 with a 64mb Mem Stick and Battery, worth it for the mem stick to me. Also this Kensington Expert Mouse Trackball for $3 - this one has a ring that spins around the trackball, interested to see if that scrolls.

Tinkering with the Sony Picture Station (DPP-EX50) I picked up today at the flea. Came with 6 ribbons and bunch of photo paper (should last me a while). Like the Mavica FVP-1 printer, it uses an AV out to display the preview/extra UI. Best of all, it works!! Not bad for $10. :)

Flea Market Friday time - picked up some things today! Got this Sony Picture Station because Sony for $10 in the box with a bunch of stuff. Have to test later. Also this box of mystery floppies - some Windows, some Mac - for $5. Will be fun to flip through...

I did pick up something today, wasn't really thrilled with the price honestly but got this C64 type in BASIC programs book, Crazy Caveman, Vic/C64 Adventure, and Chuck Norris Superkicks for $15 total. Didn't ask on the datassette unit given the pricing.

Not much to report this weekend - saw this stack Friday that included an Apple printer. Guy wanted $80 for the Apple Printer and and $120 for the Fujitus (DX2200) under it. Still there today, no surprise. I'm guessing these will be in a dumpster by the end of Sunday...

It took a hot second to find the reverse polarity adapter for my universal power supply and then some time slowly winding back the old ribbon - but that Brother EP-20 I picked up the other week works! It's really faint because the ribbon is old and used.

I guess if there are any fans following me, these photos will be cool. :)

Flea market Friday again - no pickups today, but saw some things: an iMac G4 1.25Ghz/256mb RAM/80gb HDD for $20 and this giant iMac (not sure specs or price) - this had to be a 30" screen or more. You can kind of see scale from the other beside it. And a neat Sharp VL-C73, little rough.

Tried a different flea market today. Hunted the wire bins in hopes of finding a power brick for the IBM, no luck though long shot. Did pick up a few games - two Coleco games for $5 that I didn’t have and a Coco game for $5 (I think I didn’t have it )

Got a couple laptops at the flea today - I had to get this beast of a IBM w701ds for $10. The picture doesn’t do justice to the size - I’ll get more when I test it. Sadly no power supply, but I think my universal will work. Stay tuned!

It's Flea Market Friday on the 4th of July! The market was hopping and weather was pleasant. Saw this bin with some ATI (PCI-E) graphics cards and 3D builder software, the latter was tempting but didn't ask prices. Seems like some (low) quality odd-ware there...

Hot day at the flea, even in the morning. Saw a few things and a pickup. One table had a bunch of Compute and Antic magazines for $2 each and saw most of a G5 machine. IIRC, seller quoted $70 but it did have an extra card in it (FireWire card I think). Still way too much imho.

Did pick up one item at a yard sale today - this very small Radio Shack Portavision 16-130 5” Black and White CRT TV with power brick for $5. Went for it since last was nice enough to plug it up there where I could see it work and I do love tiny CRTs. Needs a cleaning still :)

Friday and Saturday were mostly rainouts for the flea - I did see this Sony Vaio tower that was priced down to $15 before I left the table. The case was kind of in rough shape, missing/broken doors, so I passed but slightly tempting.

Found some interesting things at the flea today - a VGA switcher for ($3) - I’ve been looking around for a commander but this will help for now…(1/3)
