These are two of a family of purplemouth morays that Andres found. We could see four, but I think there were more.

One of the reasons I like Yucabito is that you can find little guys like this juvenile blue tang.

I don't see bandtail puffers very often, so I was happy to find this one. They're fun to follow around.

It was the end of the dive. I'd turned off the camera & strobes and folded in the strobe arms when, all of a sudden, I saw this loggerhead coming around a coral head. For a loggerhead, I'll turn the camera back on.

Allie found a banded clinging crab that had molted fairly recently. It hadn't had time to dress up in algae yet.

On a night dive this ocellated swimming crab didn't mind my red light, but as soon as I turned on my white light, he slid away.

I had tunnel vision, concentrating on photographing a tiny blenny, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw something orange slowing sliding downward. Six inches from my mask, this trumpetfish was gliding down to check me out.

It was fascinating to watch these two porcupinefish. The upper one was displaying protective behaviors, circling out from the ledge and positioning himself in front. Very caring.

You don't see loggerheads going up for air as frequently at green or hawksbill turtles. Loggerheads can stay down the longest -- up to 10 hours.
