Today, on the Vistula River, the one from several hundred years ago, peace and quiet.

Our recent paper in @peerj.bsky.social shows the gradual improvement in bear habitat connectivity due to land use change in the #Carpathians. We found also that up to 40% of the current corridor was stable since mid-19th century. peerj.com/articles/202...

Rožmberk is the largest fishpond in the world. It's area is 4.9-6.5 km2, depending on the water level. It is one of the five hundred fish ponds, constructed from the 13th century onwards in Třeboňsko region in South Bohemia.

W tym roku susza nam właściwie nie odpuszcza. Zagrożenie pożarowe w lasach może być zaraz wyzwaniem. Tymczasem ktoś (nie wiadomo kto...) wjechał ciężkim sprzętem do Puszczy Niepolomickiej, by zniszczyć tamy bobrowe. Porównanie zdjęć z 03.2025 (sucho) i 10.2024 (mokro). @michalzmihorski.bsky.social

Najlepsza Tarcza Wschód - podmokłe, zawalone drzewami, bezdrożne lasy naturalne. Żaden pojazd nie przejedzie, mało kto przejdzie pieszo.

W połowie września zrobiłem zdjęcie pięknego dębu na tym wysokim brzegu Bugu. Popatrzcie na zdjęcie, bo drzewa już nie zobaczycie.

🚨 Wilk nie będzie już ściśle chronionym, a jedynie chronionym gatunkiem w obrębie Konwencji Berneńskiej. 🔴 Skandaliczna poprawka, o którą wnioskowała Unia Europejska, została przyjęta i wejdzie w życie za 3 miesiące. 🔴Odstrzały redukcyjne wilków staną się bardzo realne w wielu krajach Europy.🧵

Szkoda, że rządzącym co rok trzeba przypominać o tym, że Polska musi inwestować w przyszłość. Ale dobrze, że w końcu widoczny jest efekt.
