Something that I've realized works REALLY well for myself is setting a short realistic objective for the day (when it comes to writing, or work, or something like that). Often, if I don't do that, depression and negativity creep in and nothing feels like enough.

Everyone talks about how it's good to create "rituals" to tell your brain "hey it's writing time" What they don't tell you is most of the time this ends up with you buying yourself a coffee and a croissant, which means writing has microtransactions attached to it

Something I've learned about writing drafts is that the first hour of writing is always the hardest in any given writing session. It feels like sandpaper, and you feel awful, and you only write like 300 words. Then you get into it, and it starts feeling smooth, and easy, and bam! 1500 words!
