This is really important. The main thing that makes it hard to achieve integrated nature and green in cities isn’t density of buildings or density of people — it's density of cars. And the more well-designed and integrated density of people & buildings you achieve, the fewer cars you need or want.

🌿🔊 New research find natural soundscapes—especially those rich in bird song—boost mental well-being. But how? 🧠✨ We found that these soundscapes work first through perceptions of bird diversity, and then building (awe) & restoring (stress reduction, restorativeness) capacity pathways.

I think it's really underappreciated that solar panels are now about as cheap per unit area as mass-produced building materials like wood, siding, shingles/shakes, etc. The Republican reconciliation bill aims to make solar expensive again in the US through tariffs and taxes.
