It was one of the many 30c days we've had this year. So I think this European robin was trying to cool down by completely opening its feathers to expose its skin and panting, not sure why it didn't just jump in the water, maybe it would have if something didn't scare it. #birds #ukbirds

I notice several of the house sparrows have ticks on their head, as they can't preen there. They seem to pick them up nesting, I guess from the grass they use for nesting material. Hopefully they are heathy enough to live with the parasite until it's had its fill and falls off. #birds #ukbirds
