This is what healing can look like. We gathered 45 Black women in Atlanta for Tapping Into Tenderness—and Black women came ready. Ready to feel, release, and be held.

Autism looks different on everyone. The differences may show up subtly or recognizably. It looks like the child overwhelmed by bright lights and loud sounds in a grocery store, trying to stay regulated. The adult masking their needs just to get through a workday.

Trans Visibility Day isn’t just about being seen—it’s about survival, safety, and dignity. It’s about access to affirming mental health care, housing, community, and the right to exist without violence or erasure.

For a lot of trans people, today carries both pride and pain. Kansas just made it legal to strip trans people of valid ID, restrict where they can exist in public, and sue them for simply being visible. Celebrating trans lives means protecting them too. Save this and share it!

This Black History Month, our theme is Regulate to Resist. Our communities are navigating relentless political violence, state harm, and instability that wear on our bodies, minds, and nervous systems. Regulation isn’t a luxury — it’s a survival skill and a form of resistance.

They have been lying to us. They lied to us about Pretti— but they have lied to us about all of our folks, Haitians, Mexicans, Trans folks- that they have hunted down, incarcerated and traumatized.

Fighting fascism helps us heal. Organizing helps us regulate. Resistance, paired with care for one another; especially when hatred is loud—reminds us of our sacred power. Healing justice teaches us that we cannot retreat, detach, or disappear forever.

How are you — for real? We are living through an ongoing series of events and circumstances that have created collective tension, activated deep emotions, and heightened anxiety for many of us.

In a moment when our bodies and minds are under constant political stress — from state violence to medical racism to shrinking access to care — healing cannot be one-size-fits-all. We have to hold multiple truths at once. Pharmaceutical companies have not always been allies to our communities.

This year, we’re encouraging honest reflection. As we move into a new year, this is an invitation to pause and check in with ourselves. Are our actions aligned with the care, boundaries, rest, and connection we say we value?

This is your reminder: isolation is not the answer—connection is. In a world that pushes us to cope alone, community is a radical intervention. Use our Community Care Plan to map your people, name your support, and build care on purpose. Collective healing is how we survive this moment.

Today, we choose to honor Indigenous people — their resilience, their stewardship of this land, and the generations who have survived unimaginable harm. Rather than celebrate the false narrative of “Thanksgiving,” we hold space for truth, for healing, and for a commitment to healing justice.

As we move through the holiday season, especially gatherings centered around food, let’s practice care with our words. Negative comments about Black people’s bodies — what we eat, how we look, how we “should” show up — don’t support our healing. They reinforce shame.

Whether it’s “that one auntie”, a distant uncle, an estranged sibling, or Cousin Faith 👀 — we know how it can get when everyone isn’t on the same page in the book of healing, and that’s okay!

Shifts in seasons, weather, and climates can cause many of our folks to retreat into undesirable feelings and emotions. BEAM’s programs are more than events — they’re spaces to connect, reflect, and gather with community.

Yesterday was a day FULL of healing! We started off the day with community members for another restorative flotation rest therapy session at @quantumclinicusa and partnered with Barber Gurus in Leimert Park for their Village Circle.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember and celebrate the life of Miss Major Griffin-Gracy - an organizer, healer and advocate for Black trans women impacted by policing, incarceration, and violence.

In our communities, silence has often been a survival strategy — but it can also become a barrier to healing. Keeping things to our selves does not always keep us safe, but it does encourage isolation.

Last quarter, BEAM’s Parent Support Fund reached 42 families across 12 states, redistributing $8.4K directly to caregivers getting ready for Back to School ’25. This holiday season, we’re back at it, and it all kicks off November 10th!
