It is definitely starting to feel like autumn. Morning temperatures are brisk, the leaves are changing colors and the Canada geese are moving in. This is my favorite season.

I have talked to several people about what happened at school Friday. Several people feel this kid shouldn't be in public school. Where should these kids be? Who gets to decide which kids get educated and which get institutionalized (including prisons)?

Today was so hard. The morning started well, but went bad at the end of 3rd. I got pummelled, my face got abraded and I got spit on numerous times. Within minutes of getting that kid reregulated and on their way hone, I was racing around the school perimeter looking for an eloper. 😭

Today was crazy. I caught one kid doing some really scary stuff, another was hiding a shard of glass. And I spent the afternoon with a kid who climbed a tree, climbed the bleachers and tried to hang from every doorway we went through. Also put in 10 miles in steps today.

A week ago Friday, an elderly former coworker of my aunt's deceased husband lost her home and all of her posessions to a Chicago house fire. After helping her get some basics and move into a hotel, my aunt realized it wouldn't work and instead moved her into her home. There are still good people.

Our school hosted a district-wide Unified (SpEd kids supported by gen ed kids) flag-football event today. It was phenomenal. Several teachers let kids come cheer. It was incredible to see the stands filled with students cheering for our kids.
