When fiction meets reality... Director John Frankenheimer and his crew filmed the opening to SEVEN DAYS IN MAY outside the White House one day after JFK announced the limited nuclear test ban treaty. The great Myra McPherson [1934-2026] captured the scene for the Washington Evening Star.

Bad Seed indeed... Wonder how many of Marcus Marymont's local theater castmates knew he poisoned his wife to death in 1958 while he was stationed at Sculthorpe Air Base in the UK. Sentenced to life at court martial, he somehow got paroled in 1967 and became a DJ in Arkansas.

Journalist Helen Mears' [1900-1989] letter to the editor of Harper's (March 1947). The letter is in response to the Feb. '47 Stimson "Decision to Use the Atomic Bomb" issue. She had more to say about the Bomb and Stimson in her 1948 book, "Mirror for Americans, Japan."

Blue Boy died so that Michael Burns, author, could live. In 1992 he published the well received book "Dreyfus: A Family Affair, 1789-1945." One article that appeared during his book tour quoted him: "I was always being cast as this kind of nice, normal-looking guy who was somehow psychotic."
