Good Morning. We had a sunrise porch visitor this morning. Eating bird seed and nibbling a bit on our Yule/Christmas tree (which overnighted on the porch; going up in the living room today). Charlie-who's usually "Mr. Barkadocious" was so very quiet and trembling watching the deer. 🐶🦌

#caturday Hermes caught me trying to take a pic of him while he was spying on birds and squirrels at the front porch feeders. He's a well-read little fellow; library windows are his favourite bird watching spots.

The holidays are sneaking in. The snow/ice/arctic temps have put the outdoor lights on hold. We'll get our tree this weekend. She'll hold court in the center of that glowing front window. Took that photo of our old farmhouse in the frozen moonlight... classic.

And may she be an even more potent blend of these witchy characters.

This was our little dog pack for quite a few years. Bailey, Carson and Zoey. I hope they're reunited now in whatever beautiful space exists for dog souls. Dogs are a gift and I'll fight anyone who says different.

In the wee hours this morning our Zoey crossed the 🌈. Our hearts hurt. Our home is a little emptier. But when we feel ready, we will keep these words in mind (and heart)... Zoey came to us after our Shelby girl passed... She would want us to pass that love forward again.❤️

I'm sitting here w/ my beautiful, messy,scruffy wonderful old girl as she journeys from this world to the next. She's 19. For the last 3 days we've been taking turns holding her, petting her, telling her how much we love her, thanking the universe for our Zoey girl. #sayinggoodbye #mysweetgirl #zoey

This morning Charlie and I stood in the mist & overcast, watching leaves drifting down on wind gusts; enjoying a quietly beautiful fall moment. Then I ruined it by scooping him up for a picture. Not his favourite thing. But kisses helped a little.

I had to get a new phone. My ancient Samsung finally died. The new📱 takes amazing photos-among other things that my old one couldn't. I love the perspective in this pic. We have a library in our home. It's bookishly cozy. Today I'm doing a low level book clear-out. The rainy weather is perfect.

My sons car was stolen out of our driveway (in front of our house) last night. He reported it; called insurance. He had work equipment in the car. He says it was locked. I've been trying not to freak the f--- out. Here's my pile of coping/calming things. I'm currently reading two of these.

I have jars out gathering thunderstorm water/energy. First candle lit on my altar this am: light blue spirit taper. Today would've been my dad's 84th birthday. So much this. Always respect people's jobs. I worked for many years as a diner waitress; also as a nurses aide at a hospital & a senior residence/nursing home. The skills I picked up in both of those jobs still follow me in my life.

Thank you all for the healing energy, prayers, well wishes for our Zoey girl. Just got the phone call from our vet: her kidneys are showing their age but no tumors; all other organs look good. She'll be on a special diet & supplemental fluids given by me but she's much better. It's the best news. ❤️

This past Saturday cleaned/reorg-ed some kitchen cupboards and finally finished rehoming my witches apothecary. Went thru everything, relabeled, re-jarred. Moved it to this cupboard (near my kitchen). 2/3 of this is harvested/foraged on/near our property even brick chunks/dust/nails from our house.

I adopted this beauty a decade ago. She was a sad neglected baby on a clearance cart @ Lowes. she had 1 bloom & crispy leaves. I paid something like $3 for her. This is her best year yet. She has a woody nightshade companion-they're besties; maybe lovers. I always pet them as I pass by. #witchgarden

Too much sun for this extra sun-sensitive witch to go back out at the moment. Tackling my witchy apothecary instead. Organize, label/relabel and move it to a cupboard that currently holds gardening & herb books. Swapping shelves so that both the apothecary & garden/herb books will get more use.

Just came in from my herb garden. Spent some hours trying to tame it. Swimming thru lemon balm, making a narrow little path thru to wild black caps that've taken up residence. Sliced my thumb on a broken flower pot, anointed my lemon balm, faerie fennel, gramma sage w drops of red. 2nd time this yr.
