I thought the homemade eerie gothy minimalism and propulsive post-punk of 'Area Silenzio' by eat-girls would have made it my album of 2025. And it probably would have done had it not been released in November last year. I am so bad at these things... Anyway:

David Walliams' real surname is actually the more common Williams so it was quite considerate of him to change it to something unique so anyone called David Williams wouldn't have to add "Not THAT one" to their bio.

Don't know who the guy in the middle is but he's like those people who, even during the hottest summer days, still take a big coat out with them because "it might get chilly later".

It did lead to lots of memes though so maybe CBS will re-release it like Sony did with Morbius.

Not a line-reading but Derek Smalls being a pipe-smoker is one of those tiny but utterly chefs-kiss perfect details that make you realise you're in the hands of someone who knows exactly what they're doing. RIP RR.

Always assumed this podcast is dogshit so never listened. Is this a regular bit where they speculate on how the current political landscape would affect 1980s British comedy characters? "So, Rachel Reeves' budget: How do you think this would affect Hale & Pace's two Rons?"

On the day Princess Diana died, I went to a screening of French hitman film Wild Target and can still remember the awkward silence following the comedy death-by-car-crash scene.

The Russo Brothers spent over $500 million of Netflix's money on The Gray Man and The Electric State which feels like a much more egregious scam.

Many people correctly pointed out that Dean Cain betrayed the values of Superman by joining ICE yet I'm not seeing anything about Michael Crawford pissing on the legacy of Condorman.

Saw the amazing Mermaid Chunky & their (only description I can come up with) beats-driven pastoral witchy Welsh folk last night. Not a great pic but I was reluctant to get too close as they were causing outbreaks of horny barn-dancing among the crowd and I was scared I'd get caught up in the frenzy.

Don't have a top 5 but I really like Wham Rap (particularly this mildly sweary version), a song about having a great time on the dole and how work is just for suckers. I wish somebody would do a version of this now just for the sheer rage it would cause.

I was never much of a fan of Grimes but I remember her being pretty popular and hugely respected as an artist. Do people still like her? She seems to be a bit of a tragic joke these days.

Actually, forget its dimensions. I'm now thinking it needs the full early 1990s Norwegian black metal treatment.

If any Stranger Things fans are wondering what the song is that they're playing to Max in the first episode, it's called Running Up That Hill and is by the British singer Kate Bush.

Random thing I only found out today: There was an episode of Little House On The Prairie that was pretty much a remake of The Wages Of Fear. It aired about a month after Friedkin's version opened so they were probably hoping to cash in on what they thought would be that summer's "Sorcerer Fever"...

Share a 90s film you think deserves more love. Scattered with fragmentation and disturbing ambiguity but ultimately a humane portrait of schizophrenia (which also contains one of the most near-unwatchable scenes in film history). Peter Greene - normally cast as scary weirdos - is heartbreaking.
